"Room had no WiFi, a broken toilet and a big dark stain on the carpet, this was a senior suite costing £400, the staff did nothing to help resolve the issues and basically we’re not interested. Awful service."

"We booked room with balcony and hot tub. Room was excellent, spacious with tea/coffee facilities and bathrobes/slippers, We made use of the hot tub which was great. Staff very friendly. Breakfast choice and food great Would highly recommend this hotel."

"The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Quiet and peaceful. We stayed in a room with a balcony with lovely views. The room was small and in need of an upgrade in my opinion. Older furniture. The bathroom whilst a good size with nice toiletries was also looking tired in parts. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate Sunday lunch in the restaurant. The restaurant is lovely. The food was excellent.Although not very very generous on portions of vegetables. The service was excellent during the lunch however a little disorganised at breakfast. Nice touch of complimentary gin and tonic in the room . However when we asked for ice and tonic for the room it never arrived. The spa facilities are in a lovely setting are small only 4 heated loungers so a little crowded. Best to go in quiet times. The outside seating is fab with outdoor heating. Breakfast was nice but had to ask for several items during our breakfast. We found all the staff to be very friendly a credit to the hotel. Just a few minutes walk into Grasmere centre."

"Lovely spot near Grasmere Lake right in the centre of Grasmere. Lots of nice walks nearby. Plenty of pubs/hotels to eat and drink nearby. Would stay here again."

"Positives Parking, location, generally clean. Fine for a night or two. Negatives Noisy floor boards- made difficult to sleep, shower in a cupboard- bathroom tiny, bed too soft, sofa uncomfortable. No human contact- all via WhatsApp. "

"Très bien situé à l’entrée d’Ambleside, nous avons beaucoup aimé cet établissement. Les déjeuners y sont complets et copieux et leur programme Green qui permet d’avoir une consommation par jour si on ne demande pas le service de nettoyage vaut le coup. Notre chambre était petite et au 3ème étage. Ça peut être un défi avec les bagages. Le plus gros inconvénient était de n’avoir aucun crochet dans la chambre ou même dans la salle de bain pour les serviettes. Cet aspect serait à améliorer…"
