A well maintained property with great amenities included (snorkling gear, table tennis, badminton, kayaks, SUP, beach volleyball, mountain bikes) quiet vibes but perfect to get away from it all
The overall experience at the Meridien was amazing from the start of our stay till the end. The hotel staff picked us up from the hotel, they also had everything ready for our check-in. The beach is gorgeous and the view amazing. The natural pool is really nice and it is at walking distance. The food was delicious and the size of the serve just right. The staff was also friendly and help us with our requests.
My stay at the méridien was wonderful… I was upgraded to a bungalow and treated like royalty… the bungalow was super well equipped and ultra comfortable. The staff at the hotel was very professional, efficient, and friendly! They did go out of their way to make us feel special… I hope that I get a chance to go back and stay there again, one day
There were a few problems with the equipment, such as broken switches and safes, and poorly placed doors, but the natural beauty and good service of the staff more than made up for it.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
Walkable distance (10-15min) to the Natural Pool. Most of the staff were supportive but some were rude to guests who didn't speak French. Breakfast was okay, not many options. There is no restaurants, shops around the area, so make sure to bring your own meal if you don't want to dine at the same restaurant for a few days.

A beautiful location almost surrounded by water.
Service was excellent and the staff are very friendly.
The problem for us was the room lighting; it was a like being in a twilight zone ! It was too dim to read a book!
The other problem was that we were unable to access the Internet on our i-Pads in the room, though the phone connection was good.
There was no pool during our 8 night stay (especially disappointing since the beach was closed due to shark attacks - not the hotel's fault obviously but made it worse). The alternative was to go to the hotel next door to use their pool but they had very loud construction going on each day. The pool was supposed to be back up and running halfway through our stay but the repairs went very slowly and then they couldn't get the water quality right after it was filled, so it was only opened on the afternoon of our last day! During the last few days there was construction outside out room during the day.
There was a poor selection of evening eating options. We did enjoy the Latitude bar for pre-dinner drinks but even there, scaffolding was erected inside the bar for the last few days!
No compensation was offered by the hotel for the reduced facilities, inconvenience and disruption.
Most of the front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, and did their best to help us with activities and dealing with the airlines during the Isle of Pines airport blockade. Especially Luna, who was very helpful, patient and extremely pleasant to deal with!!! She went out of her way to help me deal with the airline when trying to find out about flight disruptions and re-booking options (which wasn't easy for a non-french speaker). She also did a wonderful job suggesting and arranging activities for us, all of which we enjoyed very much. The activities Luna helped us chose were the highlight of our h
It is impossible not to love this place, set in one of the most idyllic places you could wish for, and everything about the hotel matches the location.
10 out of 10, you will be hard pushed to find a nicer destination anywhere on earth, highly recommend, I will be back to that bungalow on the beach, heaven is all I’ll say
The resort is excellent, located in a place that is the closest we’ve seen to Paradise. In addition the staff is really friendly. It’s been an absolute pleasure.
While there were a couple of issues. They rectified them, and they made you feel welcomed and important, we’ll be back, other hotels look pretty in pictures, this place WAS amazing
Resort is at a beautiful location and the staff are excellent and attentive. The food menu can be expanded and more varied for a 5 star resort. My wife also does not eat seafood so a limited menu became even more limited.
Having visited over 130 countries (and a bundle of beaches), the Meridien at Iles de Pins has to take the crown for the most idilic place anywhere. The amenities are top notch and the beach, sea, azure skies, trees are all entirely breathtaking. Unlike Australia, there are no sharks, no stinging jelly fish, no flies and no crocodiles either. And even the wifi works everywhere! Not cheap but worth every penny.
One of the nicer hotels we have stayed at. Very quiet, yet plenty of activities to keep you busy if you're up for it. The proximity to the Natural Pools was great, and the staff were very helpful in organising airport transfers, the Pirog outrigger canoe tour, etc.
Sebastien (the manager) also made a point of introducing himself which was great, and you can see that there is still plenty to do after the hotel had been closed for 2 years due to Covid. The only constructive criticism I sould make would be that I thought the lunch/dinner menu was a little limited if you were looking for a smaller (for cost effective) meal. Otherwise...fantastic. Hope to get back there again sometime in the future.
It’s a beautiful resort, on a bay with crystal clear water. We saw stingrays and turtles out in the bay. Kayaks and paddle boards available at high tide, also snorkeling equipment. Really worth going out on the lagoon around the island(s), water is astounding. We had beachside bungalow, literally 10 metres to the water. Lovely pool.
Dining and cleaning staff super friendly and accommodating with v good English. There is no shop and no other cafes nearby, and there were no bikes available when we were there, so a bit restricting. But NC just reopened after Covid, so we were impressed with how well organised they were, including transfers and checkout. Food was nice, we expected better coffee, but we are pretty fussy.
Would stay again although it’s nearly out of our price range; it was a beautiful holiday.
Stunning location on a beautiful lagoon. Our room was large and well appointed with a nice view of the pool area and lovely landscaping. We enjoyed the pool and beach area everyday and loved the games, SUP's and bikes available for us to explore the area and get out snorkeling. The bay is very tidal so you can not swim at all times of day but there are many other options to keep you happy. Breakfast buffet was very nice, and all the tables are set for you to see the beautiful water view. Service was fantastic, all the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful and cheerful. Grounds were lovingly maintained and the atmosphere peaceful. Dinner was expensive and perhaps not what I would call gourmet, and wine list overpriced for lower quality wines compared to what is available in Noumea. Overall we plan to return to this resort as we loved our 5 day stay and fell in love with Ile des Pins. Wonderful for couples but also for families. Can't wait to return!
The location of the property is very exclusive. you can easily spend a whole day on Oro Bay, or pay a visit to Natural Pool. The staffs are all warm and friendly. We traveld with our 21 months old, and the hotel manager did everything he could to help us out with special needs. As he explained, the resort was closed for 2 yrs due to covid, they lost a lot of staffs. They just open up and they have dificulty to hire staff and need to train the new staffs. They will invest the income to bring it up to level. I apreciated the honesty, covid made a big impact to hospitality industry. They deserve some understanding. One thing we don't really agree with is they charge shuttle between the airport. At a such exclusive location and premium room rate, you would expect the hotel to offer free shuttle. Overall, if you want to enjoy private space and breath taking view, this place won't disappoint you.
