"I wasn't entirely sure about this place given the lack of information, but I'm glad we ended up camping here. I opted for the new glamping tents which were fantastic! The camp itself is primarily families who've been coming to this location (and the camp next door) for decades so it's not exactly a place for tourists... it's a place to experience, particularly to see nature in action - clean water, the Nordic summer sun, great people. This was easily the highlight of our 3-week vacation....

K7 Hotel Oslo

10/10 Excellent

"Oslo doesn't have the vibrant downtown that other Scandinavian capitols do, but that shouldn't detract from your experience. That said, the hotel is perfectly located, especially if you are in need of ocean access, which with Museum Island and Fjord cruises is a definite must. Also, plenty of dining options abound, and cool places like the Viking Planet are within a stone's throw. The single laundry machine isn't exactly helpful, and can get log-jammed quickly with patrons. That is my only complaint really. Here you get what you pay for, and at a decent cost."

"Rooms were clean and rather dark which we didn’t hate. Very cosy. Sadly, biggest let down was the breakfast. Yes, there is a nation wide strike (and had been for 4 weeks already) but on constitution day we would have expected way more. Instead only very simple spread of breads, generic cheeses and meats and watery scramble eggs (no other option). Very disappointing and neither worth the price nor up to the self proclaimed “award winning” standard we were kind to enjoy. Again, we understand the circumstances but for that the prices should have been adjusted. Full price at half the service leaves a faul aftertaste to an otherwise nice stay."

"We didn't have the best starts to our trip. On checking in, which ran smoothly, we were informed that there was a staffing strike and that some services would not be available during our stay. One of the reasons we'd selected this hotel was its pool, which sadly was one of the impacted areas. Some of the bars and restaurants were also impacted. On reaching our room it did not offer the fjord views we'd booked and paid a premium for. Rather than head straight to reception to check what had happened we headed to the restaurant. For various reasons we elected not to stay and headed to reception to sort our room out. They didn't admit that we were in the wrong room but did upgrade and move us, which was the best thing that had happened since we arrived. I want to stress the staff on reception were exceptional. Still hungry and thirsty we needed to their Chicago Pizza bar, where we had two fantastic pizzas and some drinks in a very pleasant atmosphere. The menu was limited and there were no sides available but the quality of what we had was fantastic. And all of that happened within 2 hours of our arrival. The 2nd day saw the full strike kick in, more food/beverage services were impacted. It felt like we had booked a B&B. So overall this is a really hard one to grade. I am sure that we would be giving it 5 stars, if everything had been running to plan and there hadn't been a strike but sadly there was. Maybe a discount is due to encourage a revisit."
