"Stay was during May-25 at the Akohara retreat in Ubud. On arrival greeted by staff with flower garland, drinks and local traditional dance. This is definitely a couples retreat. Our room was six levels down a mountain, some 405 steps down. We used the inclinator elevator to travel between our room and main pool and restaurant. "They have 3 villas. Be mindful that it's more like a private house. I had trouble finding the location, the address in Bali is not as exact as I anticipated, so I kind of had to guess the closest landmark when I booked a transport. It is kind of out of nowhere, so I spent 3 days of tranquility. The villa is beautiful, nicely maintained, you have a full kitchen so I could cook from my own grocery. "We absolutely loved our stay at Junungan! Everyone was so kind and helpful. They reached out to me a few days before we arrived to arrange a pickup from the airport. The breakfast was delicious every morning with quite a few options. The location is a little bit out of the main area which makes it very peaceful. We got a daily shuttle to the downtown area and back, which made it easy to explore. We did a couple of the excursions which were so much fun! They have a pool and a spa on site. The room was beautiful, clean, and just like the photos. The view of the rice terrace from the balcony was amazing. The air conditioning worked well. I cannot recommend this place enough! "
