"I've stayed at Ashoka Hostel before. If you are a budget traveler, I can't recommend this place enough. I needed a cheap place to stay while getting my visa updated last year. So I stayed here again. I stayed during the May holiday this time, which meant the price was more than $44 a night, but it was still a bargain. If you are looking for a safe place to sleep and clean up, this is it. I didn't have a refrigerator this time, but it was okay. The rooms are super-tiny. But it didn't matter to...

"This hotel was quite literally the worst place I have ever stayed. Every picture that they have is fake and highly edited. There is mold, rust, bed bugs, a terrible smell, and my room had a constant drip going from the ceiling. Men stand outside of the location harassing you daily as you come in and out. There is no amount of money that could make me stay here again and the place should be shut down for it's frankly disgusting state. The owners are scammers and deserve none of your money. Do...

"The location of hostel is convenient and easy access with bus and metro…but noisy during midnight as downstairs near to bar and even can hear the communication…no signal for TV due to external renovation "

"Very convenient location, super close to the MTR station and shopping malls. Staff were friendly and welcoming and there's free dispensable cold water available which was great. The room was very small but it was enough for what I needed and most importantly it was clean. Only negatives is the shower could do with a lightbulb as it was very dark and other guests can be quite loud sometimes."

"Amazing Stay at YMCA Salisbury, Hong Kong
We had a wonderful stay at YMCA Salisbury. The hotel was beautiful, and I was so impressed with the room upgrade and amenities, it truly felt like a blessing that could only have come from God.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The location is outstanding, right by the harbor and just a short walk to the iconic Star Ferry. It is also conveniently located near Harbour City and K11 MUSEA, making shopping, dining, and sightseeing incredibly easy.
The harbor views are beautiful, and the entire area is vibrant, safe, and enjoyable to explore. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hong Kong. A truly memorable experience."
"The Cordis has consistently been my "go to" for trips to Hong Kong, not because there are not other options, but quite the opposite.
As usual, they don't disappoint. Although there seems to be a large contingent of tourists at the hotel every time I am there, the staff do try to accommodate solo travellers and business travellers a bit more in the quieter / non family tour group parts of the hotel. And that is very welcome. Additionally, all the staff, particularly those who work at The Garage, are terrific; well done, Cordis."
Hostels are a great way to stay for a good value, so you can save your money for fun things to do. We've heard good things about the waterfront and other attractions in this destination, as well as activities like shopping.
