"This was the perfect reward for reaching Tsumago after hiking from Magome on the Nakasendo. Nestled deep among tall trees, this property felt like a hidden sanctuary with its open air onsen, welcoming staff, and superb dining. Amin was exceptionally helpful during our dinner and the front desk went above and beyond to help us navigate an alternate path back to Tokyo after we found out all trains out of Nagiso were cancelled due to rain. We were looking for a room with meals, but left feeling recharged in body and soul."

"We absolutely loved our stay at this wonderful hotel. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable — a perfect place to relax and unwind. The meals were truly exceptional and among the most special dining experiences we had during our trip. "Our experience with this hotel was overall good! Staff was kind and friendly, facilities were a little dated and the lighting inside the room needs updating, pure white light is not the most pleasant, however the traditional Japanese bedroom experience was very cool! Breakfast was also awesome! That alone made this experience super cool!"
