The excellent service provided by the staff at the front desk, restaurant and others stood out for me. The property was well maintained and the room was comfy, clean and spacious! This hotel would be at the top of my list if I were to travel to the city again.

Friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast buffet, nice smelling toiletries, and pretty interior architecture. I didn’t have time to explore the area as I was just staying the night between my flight into Kolkata and a drive to Durgapur, but it seemed like there were interesting places nearby.

Although I arrived late, and the hotel was at capacity due to the IPL opening game, I received very quick and efficient service from the reception staff. My suite was beautiful (Victoria suite) and every moment at the LaLit Great Eastern felt like a journey through time and history. The food was also good and the staff at Alfresco were helpful and friendly. I would absolutely recommend here for foreigners.

A great hotel, and the best choice for the area by far. The staff were very helpful, especially Rafique, who helped me arrange my train ticket. The only small problem was some noise from the street.

LaLiT is a historic building, near the colonial seat of power when Calcutta was the capital of the British Raj. The traffic around the hotel is chaotic, not to mention crowded. But the staff were wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed our stay, and will stay there again when we are next in Kolkata.

Urgently needs an update

The staff was great, the breakfast average, the hotels is worn out and its in need of an urgent update. Breakfaste area is old and worn out and the same with some other areas. Super comfy bed and great bathroom.

We stayed at this hotel twice during our recent stay and received an upgrade on our return visit which was very welcome. Very well located for exploring the centre of old Kolkata and very good facilities. Staff are very helpful and an excellent concierge in particular who could not have been more helpful. Good selection in the dining room and extensive buffet option. The only downside is that the bar is in a separate building and lacked any atmosphere when we were there. Would happily stay here again.

Good top end hotel albeit rather a way out of Kolkata city centre in an area with little to do but convenient for airport. Recommend Club rooms for good quality lounge access and free airport transfer. Rooms well looked after with good cleaning staff, less so around pool area where difficult to get a drink before 1pm as staff still clearing up from night before despite residents trying to relax

This is a very beautiful historical property. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping was on top of making sure the room was clean along with water, tea, and coffee stocked daily. Bicky is amazing at taking care of the room and makes sure everything is perfect when he cleans the room. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again for future visits to Kolkata.

I would have given 10 stars if it was an option. You get a magnificent view from the Roof Top bar on the 26th floor. They had great food mixed with local and international cuisine. The DJ played awesome music to keep the guests entertained. I would definitely recommend to my friends and I will stay again on my next visit. I stayed there from June 18 thru 23rd 2024. Anil K USA.

A very stylish, modern hotel in a very good location. Though noisy early evening, it quieted down around 9pm which ensured a good night’s sleep. Friendly helpful staff though was a bit hectic checking in as everyone was looking to check in and out at the same time. As this is a luxury hotel I would have expected a cold drink on arrival whilst waiting (developed world problems I know, but this is down as a luxury hotel). Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Staff is trained to be always cordial and greet every guest, must give lots of credit to the employees. But the property itself doesn't have high quality amenities as they seem to be wanting to save some bucks. Water comes in plastic bottles unlike glass like Hilton or Vivanta limited selection of tea's and dinner is quite pricey for the area in my opnion.

The front desk staff were terrible. Three to four female staff members at the front checkin desk were either clueless or not willing to help. The restaurant staff were very polite and friendly and the room cleaning lady was excellent. She was very friendly and always had a big smile.

Nice room but extremely cold. Rich breakfast however with tasteless food and super sweet drinks. Kind personnel. Extremely overpriced dinner of mediocre quality. Swimming pool located in the shadow all day long. Ugly concrete building in an old part of town. I would say: find yourself another option.

The stay in the hotel was average. We are very disappointed by the overpriced food in the hotel restaurant. The ala-carte food price were exorbitant. We have traveled many places in India and stayed in five star hotels but nowhere we had this experince of overpriced food. Either you take their buffet or pay exorbitant ala carte price. Many people are not fond of buffet food but there were no options but to take it. On a positive note, Rajib in the dining area was most helpful and went over and above his duties. Kudos to him for such a great customer service.
