"Every thing was excellent. The gentleman that checked me in was very courteous and efficient. Room was equip with everything you would need. Perfect location from the hospital and needed shopping center. The morning checkout was excellent with same courtesy as evening shift."

"The first room offered to us smelled so badly of cigarette smoke and mold/musty. The bathroom floor had visible clumps of black hair on the bathroom floor (gross) and old french fries in the corner by one of the beds. We requested a room change, which was honored...the second room was on a fully recently renovated floor and was much nicer...but the door handle was installed upside down (which made it very challenging to both enter and exit the room) and the hallways still smelled musty. The front desk staff person on Saturday evening (until 11:00 pm) was amazing. the front desk staff person on Sunday morning was horrible (she was outside smoking so we waited for her...when she didn't return after 5 minutes, I approached her outside (while smoking) and asked her if she could have the towels refreshed in our room. She said "of course" but when we returned to the property that evening, it had not been done."

"I had a wonderful experience staying here. The room was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. The air conditioning worked perfectly, making the stay relaxing even during warm weather. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with any questions or requests. Another great advantage was the convenient location, with plenty of shops and amenities nearby, making it easy to find everything I needed. Overall, the hotel provided excellent service, comfort, and value for money. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to other travelers. 😊"

"Our room was clean and the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was awesome. There was so much variety and if you couldn't sit down for breakfast they had Go Bags. You could put a muffin and a piece of fruit to eat later and take it with you. That's such a wonderful service for business travelers. The young lady managing the breakfast was always busy making sure things were readily available. (Be sure to tip her for her good work) She showed us how the pancake maker worked, which was a difference from other hotels that have the waffle maker. (Btw, I love both) The gym was adequate and, even though we didn't use it, the pool looked very nice too. I wish we had brought our bathing suits this trip. The traffic noise from US 23 is very noticeable, but that's expected since it's located right off the Highway. There are also several fast food and sit down restaurants within walking distance which is always a plus and the drive to downtown Pikeville is just minutes away. We will most likely use this Holiday Inn again for our next trip to the area. One downfall is the parking situation. It fills up rather quickly in the evenings, especially with larger work vehicles. Also, some people may find it confusing to actually reach the hotel since you have to go through an area that includes restaurants and the blood bank before you reach the hotel entrance, so some additional signage would be useful."
