"Pension Barbara is a very cosy and clean pension right next to the paths leading up to The Brocken. The hostess was very sweet and attentive, and we had a good stay. Schierke as a town is a bit dated and quiet in the autumn, when we visited. Is was difficulty to find a place to just have a couple of drinks etc. The national park, Brocken and paths are all excellent for a short hiking-holiday. Great nature, chalenging paths (if you want it), nice restaurant on the summit."

The room itself was clean and comfortable, though a bit dated in style. Breakfast was varied and tasty, with something for everyone. "This is one of the best hotels that I have stayed. It has plenty of character. The staff are fantastic, the hotel is spotless. The resturant is very good. Should I return to Wernigerode, I will be staying here."

"Rigtig pæn og ren lejlighed. Sengene var meget behagelige (også sovesofaen). Der manglede dog nogle større knive (brødkniv mm.) i køkkenet, men det er også det eneste “negative” omkring hele lejligheden. Parkeringen var nem og gratis, med parkering lige ude foran. Kan kun anbefales. "
