Excellent breakfast included and beautiful views. We stayed for 2 nights and our room did not get cleaned up with towels changed. It seems this is not the service level in Iceland; however, the property grounds are very nice and we had a good time. We lived the expresso machine coffee!

We stayed in a cabin, which looks kind of quaint but really it was musty. We had to kill a dozen flies when we got there. The room itself was clean, but the cabins are old and run down. The Hotel on site (Laki Hotel) is a new building so probably much nicer. For the price, I would expect it to be more polished. The main building where breakfast was served was lovely. And the breakfast was amazing. The service staff, also lovely.

The bungalows are really small, got a room for 2 adults and 2 kids which had a bed and sofa bed, the sofa bed wasn’t big enough to fit in 2 people. The space was very tight and it wasn’t well maintained. The room was clean and breakfast was decent. The staff was friendly, but the price didn’t justified what you get.

I really wanted to like this place and I enjoyed the historic location of the property (though I wanted to find the bunker of ash layers and couldn't). The bungalow was very small for 4 people and it needs some updating, especially for the price --attention to the bathroom and kitchen areas. We very much appreciated being able to have the hotel breakfast which was fantastic. The staff there especially Jose, is engaging and friendly. Bread was a standout.

Wifi did not reach the bungalow. Bathroom door handles were not screwed together, allowing knobs on both sides to fall out. Twin beds shoved together. Some $ should be put into refurbishment. The restaurant was great for dinner. The breakfast was average. The overnight laundry service was a well spent $20.

You know that the experience is going to be iffy when the lady at the front desk responds, "Ummmmm" to the question "Is this a nice room?" The bungalow was not particularly clean and is kind of run down. It did not have TV or internet. The shower ran out of hot water after one shower. I understand that Iceland is pricey, but we paid way too much for this room. On the bright side, the restaurant at the hotel is really very good.

Great hotel. We ended up staying at Hotel Laki instead of the bungalows because it was more convenient. The staff were so kind. One of the nicest we've encountered in Iceland. - The receptionist changed our booking month when we got it wrong and helped us cancel one of our double bookings because of the snowstorm. - The restaurant staff, Arna and Jose, gave my daughter boxed apple juice, bread to feed the horses inc baby horses nearby, gave a small gift to my daughter, and a small cake when my daughter told them it was my birthday. Spacious rooms, great bar area with fun games to play during the snowstorm.

We got upgraded to a nice room at Hotel Laki as the bungalows were closed after summer. The hotel was very swanky, the food options were delicious, the staff were very helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Prepaid booking, booked the bungalow for a 1 night stay August 08 2026 Check in - Easy, front staff to assist. Check-in time ends at 0530am, checked in around midnight with no issues. 5/5. Drive to the bungalow from the main reception - Short distance (100-200m) around the side of the property. However, not paved or flat. Not friendly for small/low clearance vehicles. 2/5 Bungalow room - Small, exactly like photo. Shower design poor, strong water pressure blasted water all over the bathroom floors. 4/5 Staff - Very friendly and helpful, accommodating. 5/5 Breakfast - Served 7-10. ~15-30 second walk from main lobby (side entrance available as well through exterior ~30-40 steps). Nice variety, pancake, juices, scrambled eggs, sausage, baked beans, fruits (watermelon, orange, apples), porridge, cereal, milk and alternative milk, cheese (sliced cheese and brie), lettuce, variety of breads, salami, ham, sliced cucumber, sliced tomato, Icelandic pickled fish, baked goods, coffee and tea. 5/5 Restaurant/Dinning area - Spacious, very clean, plenty of seating (~150+). Tables, dinning bench, lounge chairs, porch/patio table. 5/5 Laundry - Service only, no personal use. 3000ISK per bagged load. - did not use. Check out - Easy, drop off key no other requirements. 5/5
