"Hotel room was really nice and spacious. Friendly staff and helpful. Large carpark for your stay but no electrical ports for electric vehicles so not that eco friendly. On check out after a 2 night stay had to pay £12 parking fee even though there’s no alternative as your in the middle of the countryside so seems rather cheeky, also £1 to plant a tree, I didn’t plant a tree and then £12 service charge, this on top of the hotel cost and the parking fees. "We really enjoyed our one-night stay at the inn. We managed to snag an amazing deal at half the usual rate. Our 2-bedroom room was very clean - only a couple of snags were experienced. The first sleeping area had no bedside lighting and the second had no accessible mains supply! The breakfast included was excellent. The setting for the inn is fantastic - lovely area to walk around."

"Very good a-la-carte breakfast. Nice location, close to the old town and few minutes walk from the train station. Complementary, delicious cookies in the room. Charming hotel and bedrooms, one issue is that water was dropping in the bedroom from the ceiling, from time to time. I notified the reception so I hope they fixed the issue. "

"My partner and I came up north for a hike, we spent two nights here and it was great; a good location and a peaceful scenery. Breakfast was good as well. Post services was amazing as I lost my headphones, and they were able to find it and offered to send it via post. I would absolutely recommend this place."

"We notified Maypole Inn of our expected arrival time and Staff kindly kept the kitchen open for us as we were late arriving - Excellent evening meal and generous portions. Additionally, we were allowed to use the kitchen freezer overnight for our cool box. Rooms and bathroom were very clean and tidy although there was a patch of damp/dirt in the corner of the celling in the main room.
