"We found check-in tedious and the staff member inefficient. He had to search for our key in a messy cluttered drawer. Reception area super messy and not professional or inviting. The room was spacious and clean but there was a large crack in the glass of the wardrobe door and the towel rail was hanging loose. Shower pressure and heat of water was amazing. We booked for 2 persons but obviously only one of us was meant to wash our hair as only 1 each tiny shampoo and conditioner was supplied. No biscuits as are usually supplied complimentary in even the most economy motel.Spare blanket was old and worn. Good supply of kitchen cleaning supplies left. The whole room while clean and spacious was tired and dated with a few recent additions like a new toilet and sink but the general feel was tired. "

The location is perfect, offering great opportunities to explore the local neighborhoods. For us, it was the best hotel in Melbourne in terms of both price and facilities. While the building is slightly older, everything was perfectly functional and comfortable. If we visit Melbourne again, we would be very happy to stay here once more. Martin "

"We stayed here with another couple for a relaxing weekend in the Yarra valley. The location is amazing, beautiful views and an amazing team and restaurant. We enjoyed the 3 course dinner and the food is sublime. The wine matching to the meals was top notch and we will definitely be back. Thanks Balgownie. "

"From arrival to departure our stay at the Mercure was great. The lady at reception was a delight and made us feel welcome. We were upgraded to the superior king room which had a great view of the city. The room was very quiet. The bed comfortable. We really loved the bathroom with a beautiful walk in shower. The only down side was the pool as it was supposed to be 31 degrees but it was no where near that temperature. Very cold to the point where we couldn’t swim without freezing. Probably good in summer but not winter."
