An Excellent Choice

The hotel was undergoing renovation and still was an excellent choice. It has a professional staff; clean, spacious rooms, and is situated near major attractions within the city.

Hotel in general requires upgrades. Issues noted…Toilet not always functional. Part of electrical plugs in room did not work. Hot water did not work. The bed sheets were stained. The staff was apologetic and tried their best to rectify the situation.

First time at Kosa and me and my partner lived it. Right in the middle of everything from Ton Tan market, central Plaza, Fairy shopping and loads of clubs and bars. Pool decent and quiet. Staff friendly and accommodating. Buffet breakfast plentiful. Black out curtains would be a bonus. Thank you

Room was great, though a tad small. Very comfortable bed. Lobby is beautiful and well equipped to sit and watch the world go by. You get the sense that it's slightly old but very genteel. Marble and overstuffed furniture everywhere. Staff is outstanding and bends over backwards to accommodate any requests. Free buffet breakfast is better than adequate, though selection is limited. Both western and Thai foods available. Coffee is freshly brewed and outstanding. In my experience, that's often an issue in Thai hotels. Fitness center is quite good and well equipped. Pool is very nice, though not warm at this time of year. Therapeutic massage and aromatherapy available on site. The hotel has several dining options. There's also an excellent truly Italian restaurant, Pomodoro, an easy walk away. (Maybe 200 meters?) 7-11 and Amazon cafe also nearby. One gotcha: the mall across the street from the hotel is closed for renovations and there is no indication when it will be reopened. Central Mall is nearby, though not really within walking distance. (There are several extremely busy streets you'd have to cross. But it's a mere 70 baht Grab ride away.) Parking at the hotel is a bit iffy, but if you're staying more than a couple of days, duke the valet 20 baht or so and he'll find you a space up front and be your friend for life. Wifi is easy to use, though the speed isn't great. All in all, I'd rate it 9.5 out of 10.

Sorry to say, DATED. Faint musty smell from AC. COLD shower only a trickle of hot water. Door handle fell off bathroom door. Gross "View" moldy building walls and rooftops. Parking is across the street in a parking garage. Staff is friendly. Pool was clean and decent. Heavy, perfumed citronella? smell in lobby.

Worth the money

The hotel is a little dated, but not enough to worry about. The room itself was nice and roomy. The bed was also of a good standard.The breakfast had a various choice of good quality food. I'd be happy to stay there again.It was well worth the money!

Okay for the price

Staff at the hotel extremely helpful for our short stay. The hotel rooms we booked are a little rundown and could do with a spruce up. Pool is decent (and clean). We did have to request a room change as staff did a little too good a job in whatever they used to spray/disinfect. Hairdryer in our room wasn’t working but not a major issue as family in another room provided theirs. Breakfast was included - the offering a little bit limited compared to other places in Thailand but still okay.

Very friendly and serviceminded staff. The hotel is old and it shows. Does definitely need an upgrade. WiFi was bad, constantly cutting off. We had to change room the second day due to maintenance work, and the shower in the second room had very poor to no pressure. This hotel was once a prestigious hotel, but is now an old lady, which still keeps her style, but you can tell her best days are gone.

Room For Improvement

There were pluses and minuses to my stay at Kosa, but to be honest I was a little disappointed. My room was spacious and spotless with a comfortable bed, cozy bedding and a nice view. The furnishings weren’t new, but they were clean and well maintained, including the spacious marble bathroom with super-sized mirrors. Another plus was the large room safe, and I especially appreciated the retractable clothesline in the tub for those who like to wash clothes on the road. If you are interested in Khon Kaen’s nightlife, Kosa sits only a few steps from one of the main hubs, so the location was great, and another plus was the pleasant hotel staff. However, there were a few problems. The biggest was that only one power outlet worked in the entire room, so I was forced to cook the coffee and charge my phone in the bathroom. Not optimal. The shower soap and shampoo dispensers worked poorly and not at all, respectively, and when I checked in there was no bag in the bathroom garbage can. It felt as though my particular room hadn’t been used in a while, or was sort of forgotten about at the end of someone’s cleaning shift. Meanwhile, the wifi supported only one device at a time, and even that was unsteadily, although this may have more to do with KK’s coverage generally, which seemed a little patchy everywhere. Overall, I’d say mine was a comfortable, secure stay, but there is room for improvement.
