"We had one of the best family holidays so far at this hotel (now with a toddler). The pools, the water park and the kids club kept the kids entertained every day. Many activities for kids as well as adults, in the hotel and in the surrounding area. Great selection of food as well. Hotel is well equipped with all the amenities you'd need. The staff were amazingly helpful and polite. My son got surprised for his birthday with a room set up and a cake, which we hadn't even mentioned specifically to them, we thought was a beautiful gesture by The Sands. Sad to end our wonderful holiday here, but leaving already with hopes to be back."

After spending time here, I can honestly say that this is one of those places where you quickly feel comfortable and at home. 🌿 PEACEFUL, QUIET & BEAUTIFUL The first thing that stands out is the atmosphere. The resort is surrounded by beautiful tropical trees and gardens, creating a peaceful little oasis in Khao Lak. Even though you are close to the restaurants, shops, and everything happening around Khao Lak, the resort itself is remarkably quiet and relaxing. That is something I really appreciate. There is no need to rush. You can have breakfast, take a walk through the gardens, relax by the pool, and simply enjoy the day. 🍳 THE BREAKFAST IS VERY GOOD I have really enjoyed the breakfast here. The food is tasty, there is a good selection, and it is a very pleasant way to start the morning. A good breakfast, followed by a quiet morning around the resort, is a great way to enjoy Khao Lak. 😊 THE STAFF ARE EXCELLENT One of the biggest reasons I have enjoyed my stay is the staff. They are very polite, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. You can tell when people genuinely care about providing good service, and I have experienced that here. "This hotel is very good. Clean rooms, Beautiful breakfast. Private pool access (I had the room with pool access). The main pool, which is near the sea, is big and convenient. The beach is wonderful. The sea was a bit wavy, but I think when there is no wind, it has to be amazing!. The personnel are very polite. Everybody says "Hello" and sends a beautiful smile. Wonderful place for a quiet vacation."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Merlin - in fact we are still here as we extended our stay with the hotel because we decided we didn’t need to go anywhere else for a truly magical and relaxing stay. We feel immersed in nature - surrounded by incredibly beautiful trees and we saw a slow loris during our night tour! The pools are so lush with vegetation all around them - we spent hours just milling around in what felt like a jungle pool, complete with waterfalls! The staff are all so lovely and super attentive, but with the most relaxed and easy going manner. I found myself quite envious of the people who work here - they honestly seem to be very happy in their work and well looked after. We didn’t go all inclusive and slightly regret that, as it wasn’t a lot more on top and means that, even if you only eat here half the time, it will probably be worth it. We are already trying to figure out when we can come back! Thank you so much everyone at Merlin - we will see you again as soon as possible! 😊"

"Lovely resort right on the beach at the south end of Khao Lak. The rooms are older but well maintained, and comfortable with lots of space, including huge bathrooms. I loved the beautiful grounds and get-away-from-it-all vibe of the property. My room rate included the buffet breakfast, which had a large variety of western and Asian choices along with an egg station/omelet bar. Nice environmentally friendly touch with the glass water bottles in the rooms too. Cheers."

"This was our second visit to this wonderful resort hotel and we were treated as family returning home, on our arrival. The manager Sali was so genuinely happy to see us back, as were all the staff from reception to room cleaners and gardeners. The peace and quiet and tranquility of this place is amazing, even when there are a lot of guests, you feel you are on your own with nature. A truly wonderful and beautiful place. Breakfast was buffet style with eggs to order, and cooked properly. Views around the grounds, especially around the lagoon gave you a feeling in the jungle with monitor lizards roaming around the grounds freely. As for the beachfront, you could not get a more photogenic view, we never tired of the views in our 20 days there. Looking forward to returning soon. Thanks to all the staff for their love and attention."
