"The lodge was very clean and tidy. The owner and security made me feel very welcome and safe and nothing was to much to ask. The property has a hike up the ridge behind for great views. You could if you wanted to hike to mountain sanctuary its about 2 hours there and another 2 hours back. It was well located just off a main road. Giraffe, Zebra all came onto property to feed on the land which was quite exciting."

"Woodlands Gardens is located near Magaliesberg. The accomodation was clean and well looked after. The common areas i.e. the pool was very nice. The owners have very friendly dogs and our dogs were welcomed and enjoyed it very much. Locates close to many hiking areas and restaurants. The owners are friendly and have good communication with guests. A little on the priciers side for what you are getting but still a great weekend away."

"I enjoyed my time of rest but when the new visitors arrived on Monday I could hear everything going on.next door.....water running, talking etc.And they were not noisy at all. So that was the end of my "quiet time ". Also... The fact there was no one of authority to interact with, I find disconcerting. Sarah was very friendly but not empowered with knowledge of the do's and the dont's. I really loved the comfortable bed and wonderful shower and the magnificent view of the mountains."

"Clean room "

"The bed was comfortable and the surroundings were very nice, which gave a good first impression. The pool was fine, though it could definitely have been cleaner. Unfortunately, the room itself felt quite dated and the bathroom was not very clean, which took away from the overall comfort. The biggest disappointment came on our checkout day when there was no water at all, making it impossible to shower or even wash up. We had paid extra for a late checkout, but couldn’t use it because of the water issue. The staff were friendly and apologetic, and we were promised an email with a credit note — but we never received it. With a bit of maintenance, better cleaning, and improved communication, this hotel could be so much better. It has potential, but as it stands, it was a frustrating experience overall."

"The area is wonderful, the game drives were the highlight of our trip, we saw different animals on each ride. The lodge was good too, the staff was friendly, food was ok, it was a bit noisy to be in a room by the pool but there was no option to select the room location on Expedia. Inside it was a bit dated and there were bugs (but it is in the wilderness so hard to keep them out). There were elephants coming almost to the restaurant which was amazing to see them right there. The entire idea to put this lodge at edge of the park is brilliant, it was a great experience overall "

"What an amazing experience. The lodge is beautiful-including great upgrades such as an infinity pool and wellness spa all nestled in a picture perfect bushveld setting. Every single member of staff were incredible. They were so friendly and helpful, always wanting to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We thank them for all that they did for us. And special thanks to Dolfi our guide who took us around the reserve on our game drives. His energy and passion made every second special. Not only did we see such amazing animals, but Dolfi also took time to share in the conservation efforts and the spectacular plants and wildlife. His knowledge is fascinating and compassion for his guests and ensuring their enjoyment was refreshing. Thank you Black Rhino Lodge!"
