"Set on a working farm in beautiful countryside with far reaching views. The property was lovely & clean & contained everything needed for a relaxing stay. A very comfortable bed, a lovely shower with plenty of hot water & the property was lovely & warm. There was plenty if onsite parking. Whilst we didn’t need to contact the hosts we knew they were close should we have need them. Lovely welcome pack on arrival. "When we checked in, the girl on reception had a face like a wet weekend in Warsaw and was borderline rude; she couldn't of cared less if we were there or not. Although now retired, I taught Hospitality Management for over 25 years and understand that the reception desk is the hotel's shop window and that first impressions really do count. Not even a good afternoon or hello, nice to see you , welcome to the County. Definitely a training deficit here to be remedied."

"This hotel is in an excellent location in Keswick and the staff were very helpful. The bar area was large and relaxing. However, the room, apart from the carpets, was tired and needed refurbishment. There was a black mould around the wooden windows. The shower unit was yellow with age. Even the toilet paper was thin and cheap. The breakfast was adequate, but the orange juice in particular, was like coloured water. Given the much higher price compared to local b&bs, we were disappointed with the overall experience."

"The room was super spacious, very clean and lovely and airy on a really hot day. The bed and pillows were really comfy and the room was surprisingly quiet considering the hotel is next to the motorway. We had a lovely warm welcome and it was so handy for Gretna and access to Scotland. We'd stay again any time."
