Look elsewhere!

I booked this "hotel" based on the reviews and available information at the time. Upon arrival we were very disappointed. This is really a hostel with changing management. The room was TINY and VERY dirty and moldy. Standing in the bathroom, you could touch all the walls without stretching; the door scraped the floor and didn't close. The water in the tap and shower ran rust colored. Between the dirt and mold, I couldn't breathe I the room. We chose to check out early even though we would lose money because of these problems. None of this was an issue just next door. A further caution to female travelers: I was very uncomfortable with the rude comments and leering from the ever-present group of young men in the lobby. This happened even with my (adult) brother present. I suspect that this is only an issues sometimes - under specific bosses. Given the sheer number of hotels in the area, I would expect the competition to drive up the quality. That is, however, just not the case for this "hotel." There are other great hotels in the area for the same cost; book one of them.

Bring your earplugs

A triple whammy of noise here - three hotels being built right opposite- angle grinders all day long! The rooms bear little semblance to that described. I pointed out that our room was nothing like that described (or in photo) and he just shrugged his shoulders. Not only is there no HOT water 24 hours day, there is actually NO WATER 24 hours a day. I had to run to reception three times and still there was no water. I've stayed in about 20 hotels in KTM and this is probably the worst. On a plus - there are some great eateries nearby.
