"My family encountered poor service at this hotel.
During breakfast hours, my family was shocked to find housekeeping maids in our rooms even though we did not put out “Please Make Up Room” sign. Our valuables, phones and important belongings were still in the rooms. Our pyjamas were still on the beds. These were clear indications that we had not left the hotel to sight see.
In shock, we approached the reception with 3 female staff. Two of them were extremely rude and unreasonable. They blamed us for not putting out “Do Not Disturb” sign. They claimed that guests can leave hotel without phones and personal belongings. They argued that housekeeping has the right to enter guest rooms any time during breakfast hours. Instead of helping, the reception made the whole incident worse.
Feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, we asked to check out with full refund for the second night after having paid in full for 2 nights. We wouldn’t want to leave if not for this intrusive housekeeping and offensive reception. However, we were forced to stay because our distressed request was rejected.
We had the opportunity to stay at another 3/4-star hotel in Kalabaka for a third night. There is no doubt that the service in that hotel was so much better than Grand Meteora hotel, which is overrated and over priced."
