"We stayed in this hotel for three days while we explored Kandy. The hotel itself is set in a beautiful serene. There is a high level of attention to detail with the rooms, everything has been carefully considered. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is outside of the city, the hotel is more than happy to arrange transport to and from the centre at short notice. The food is cooked to order and tasted delicious. "Cannot say enough good things about our stay at Pearl House. Both hosts were amazingly welcoming and made us feel right at home by giving us recommendations and tips for getting around. Property may feel long away from the centre but they advised a short cut that made the walk only 10 minutes. Also, the room had AC and a fan which was ideal after hiking all day. Will definitely stay again if visiting Kandy."

"First thing first... This is a HOMESTAY! Meaning you will be staying in their house. If that is what you want then you will be happy. The guy that runs the place is very nice. He does however want to be around you all the time. As for the rooms, you get what you pay for works here, they are very basic. 2 plug ins, 1 worked, 1 shocked me. "The hotel is perfectly placed to walk to the temple, lake and market. A 20 min walk of brief tuk tuk ride from the station. Reasonably comfortable bed with a private en-suite. The only issue was that one wall of the room is a floor to ceiling window that looks onto the hallway and lets in light from the hall until it is switched off around 11pm. So maybe ask which rooms might be best if you prefer the dark! Air con very good and warm shower. The food is delicious, both breakfast and dinner....

"The hotel is lovely but dated. It’s in the middle of a residential area, and although google maps says it’s a 20 mins walk to the town centre, it doesn’t account for the monster hills! There was no cleaning in the room whilst we were there, water was charged at an exceptional rate, which we weren’t told about. The staff were very friendly though, and couldn’t help us enough, as we were one of two couples in the hotel during this our of season period. "

"it is the 2nd time hotels.com is selling me a place that does not exist anymore. we went to the place after calling but failing to get an answer multiple times, they said they are not open for a year. it was a terrible experience to walk all the way with the luggage at night and trying to find another available hotel was awful."

Our bathroom had an open drain and did not smell great which was a downside.
