In the heart of the scenic Flathead Valley lies the cultural and economic hub of Northwest Montana and the gateway to the surrounding Rocky Mountains.

Experience the treasures of this great region in every direction around Kalispell. Hike Glacier National Park, enjoy watersports on Flathead Lake and ski at Whitefish Mountain Resort. All these attractions are within a 30-minute drive from downtown Kalispell.

The city embraces its natural surroundings and local talents. Stroll through the historic downtown, which features art galleries displaying works inspired by the beautiful natural setting. Browse through artisan and outdoor gear shops and enjoy food and drink at local pubs, a microbrewery and restaurants serving locally grown fare.

Discover the small city’s fascinating past. The preserved Conrad Mansion reveals the everyday, turn-of-the-century life of the prosperous Conrad family and its patriarch, Charles Conrad, the founder of Kalispell. Visit the Museum at Central School to learn about the story of the region, from its Native American culture to the early logging industry. Find paintings by C.M. Russell and contemporary exhibits at the Hockaday Museum of Art, with a collection ranging from Montana’s artistic legacy to its exciting future.

Bike or drive to Woodland Park, just minutes from downtown. The whole family can enjoy the playground, summer waterpark and winter ice skating pond. On the edge of the city, Lone Pine State Park features hiking trails and panoramic vistas of Flathead Valley. Follow the former Great Northern Railroad bed on foot or bike the Rails to Trails path from Kalispell to the northern end of Flathead Lake.

Kalispell hosts several annual events that introduce participants to the dynamic local culture. Arrive in May for obstacle course racing at the Montana Spartan Race. Equestrian activities are featured at the Event at Rebecca Farm in July. September brings the Montana Dragon Boat Festival. Watch the Montana Pond Hockey Classic in the winter.

Drive to Kalispell on major U.S. highways or use Amtrak train service to nearby Whitefish. Glacier Park International Airport is just 8 miles (13 kilometers) from the city center and offers regular flights to and from several major national airports.

"I only put lower value on area around property because our window faced the parking area where the trash bins sat and the trash was picked up at 5am. Not the hotel's fault! The breakfast was amazing every morning, staff very friendly."
