Aston Mahana at Kaanapali

"My wife and I stayed for a week at the Aston Mahana and we really enjoyed our stay. We had a unit with a single bedroom (king sized) and sitting room and both the bedroom and sitting room had amazing ocean views. We could see turtles and even dolphins in the water right outside. The staff was generally very helpful. Shout out to Lyn. Keep in mind this is really a condo and not a hotel and each unit is owned by a different person, so on occasion you can get a less well maintained unit as did someone we spoke with. Ours was in excellent condition (only the beach chairs were substandard but at least there were some!). The Mahana did provide K-cups for the coffee maker and pool towels but maid service is an extra charge. The pool was nice but it was very windy and it is a deep pool (9 feet at the deep end) so not so kid friendly. The hot tub was kept at 103 degrees and was very comfortable. We did not use the ample BBQs. The location is superb with easy access to Lahaina and Kapalua. The biggest bonus was the beach just south of the hotel which has easy snorkeling and swimming, and the boardwalk gives easy access all the way to Kaanapali if so desired. We would definitely consider staying here again."

"This was the perfect place for our family of 6 to stay on our first trip to Maui! The pool and beach kept the kids entertained all day long and it was so nice to be able to go straight upstairs and make dinner or lunch. Or head to the pool bar or Duke's next door when we didn't want to make anything. Being able to do laundry was a major plus with messy little kids and salt/chlorine soaked swimsuits. Staff was super friendly, helpful and took care to ensure everyone's comfort and safety. There were fun activities each day for the kids to partake in when they wanted a change of pace. And the overall location was so easy to get to all the places outside of the resort that we wanted to visit. We're already planning our next trip back!"

Aston at Papakea Resort

"We love Papakea and have stayed many times, but this particular unit, F101, was not up to the standards of other units. While ocean front is nice, the inside needs a serious update. There are cracked tiles on the bathroom floor and the furniture in the living room is scratched up and not comfortable to sit on. The A/C unit is not strong enough to push air into the bedroom which was the hottest part of the unit. There are no extras in the unit, like beach chairs or boogie boards which other units have. The curtains in the living room look very dingy in appearance and they did not match the ones on the sliding glass door. Everything else about this resort is perfect."

"I had a great stay in Maui! The location of this place is fantastic! The beach is quiet and beautiful. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The one time I went to the pool it was warm, clean, fun. My room was also wonderful, with a very comfy bed, kitchen, nice bathroom and view of the ocean from the balcony. I would absolutely stay here again!"
