Big Bear Frontier

"We originally booked a cabin, but a couple of weeks before our trip, we received an Expedia message saying there were no cabins available for our dates, even though we had already paid the deposit. They did have a 2-queen motel room reserved for us instead, and honestly, it worked out for the better. The room had air conditioning, which was definitely needed during a hot July weekend in Big Bear! The room was clean, the Wi-Fi worked great, and I really liked that the TV allowed us to switch inputs. We were able to hook up our Fire Stick and use our streaming services, including watching WWE SummerSlam. Our room was right next to the lake, so we had amazing views and it was so relaxing with the BBQ and benches at the picnic area. The location was also close enough to the Village that we walked over a few times for food—Village Pizza, BBQ at The Cookshak, and of course morning coffee at Tea & Coffee Exchange. The only issue we had was with parking. It seemed like the parking and picnic area could be better monitored, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. There was a large gathering at the picnic area, and by the time we returned, there was only one parking spot left. I'm not sure if everyone there was staying at the property, but it would be nice if parking was better enforced to make sure registered guests have a place to park. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend, especially if you're visiting during the summer!"

"We were looking last minute for availability in the area and ironically the cabin photos are what caught our eye, yet still did not do these beautiful cabins justice! 😍 The decor varies and we chose Lucille’s manor as it was my father’s grandma’s name and just uncanny how similar the style was to hers. A lovely slice of nostalgia in a beautiful setting. The cabin appeared brand new if that helps describe the cleanliness. My parents have designed, built, and decorated their own homes for 30 years and were blown away by the evident intention and thought put into every detail. It was so cozy and gave “lived in” but in the best way possible for a rental. We came through town with the intention of relaxing and sleeping here, maybe taking advantage of the free bikes but to enjoy local establishments for food and drink. Which worked out perfect with the fridge/freezer, microwave, and coffee before heading out for the day. But there were grills and some utensils for it if needed - so if that is your vibe for your stay we thought the amenities and included items listed were very transparent on the listing 🙂 We will be back for sure! "Everything was great, property was clean and well maintained. Only concern was that the indoor pool was not at a pleasant temperature. It was on the cold side and guests there agreed. Not sure if it was supposed to be heated or not. Nightly s’mores kits are provided and was a pleasant surprise."

"To be fair this is an older building so don’t expect to much rooms are small. I’m happy to share that things were very clean inside and I wasn’t worried while I slept. So in this case I would say you get what you pay for. If you just need a quick layover for a night or two then it definitely works for that but nothing extra to right home about."
