"Even though this hotel could use some cosmetic updating, let’s be real people…it is the only hotel in downtown Grand Marais with a pool! It even has a hot tub too! My kids love to swim and so this was a great choice for us and non-negotiable for the kids. Also, you can get 2 rooms (like we did) for the price of one room at the more expensive hotels around it (which don’t have a pool). Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, and staff were friendly. Breakfast is just cereal, bagels with cream cheese, pancakes, yogurt, fruit cups, and microwaveable oatmeal packs. I am GF so I packed my own food and that worked out fine for me. Kids were fine with breakfast. Rooms have refrigerators, but I wish they had microwaves in the rooms instead of just the lobby. Hot tub felt good on sore muscles after long days of hiking. If you are expecting a hotel that is modern and updated, without its quirks, this is not for you. However, if you are looking for something comfortable, affordable, easily walkable, and fun for the family this is a great choice."
"Beautiful place! Quant and quiet, celebrated the Fourth of July. Close enough to the action- far enough to be away from the noise. Looking forward to booking again in the future."
"Hey there fellow travelers! This place is all about location location location! It is being updated nicely! Website could be more helpful, but know there IS a small fridge, but no microwave. There IS a hairdryer (helpful for most with long hair). Shampoo and body wash, make-up remover packets, Keurig and k-cups provided. No conditioner. All in all, a great home base location for all the top things in the area! Would definitely recommend and stay again!!"
"Inn is located perfectly for walking anywhere in Grand Marais. Patio on the lake is wonderful! Room was okay….. needed a deep cleaning. Bed was very lumpy. There was no air conditioning. Staff was very nice!"
