"My cousin and I stayed at the Guest House Mansion on our first trip to Natchez to tour the beautiful antebellum homes and enjoy a bed-and-breakfast experience. The location was fantastic—within walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars, and historic sites. We especially enjoyed the porch with its rocking chairs and cast-iron tables, where we could relax and enjoy the free entertainment of locals cruising by with music loud enough to hear, feel, and occasionally synchronize your heartbeat to.
The mansion has beautiful period furnishings, and the manager was friendly and professional. Unfortunately, the room seemed to be preserving more history than intended. A musty smell greeted us at the door, the carpet felt gritty and damp underfoot, and even the armoire had its own unique aroma. For perhaps the first time in my life, I was thankful I packed house shoes. Replacing the carpet with tile and area rugs would likely do wonders.
Breakfast was included, which was fortunate because my vacation budget and restaurant prices were having a disagreement. Unfortunately, most of the buffet had also decided to cool off before we arrived. Thank goodness for the scrambled eggs and grits. Overall, the property has charm, character, and a great location. With some deep cleaning, maintenance, and a buffet that stays acquainted with heat, it could be a truly wonderful stay."
"The Monmouth Inn is always a treat to stop at when we’re coming too and from the beach. The staff is always very kind and hospitable, the breakfast is outstanding along with the breakfast staff, the grounds are quite remarkable to walk through accompanied by the many kind cats of Monmouth, all of the rooms are so unique and beautiful to stay in, and the front desk staff are always so welcoming and inviting. For each stay, we’ve gotten a different room and it’s always so exciting to see where on the grounds we end up. Each room has its own story. It’s like a storybook comes to life. If you’re looking to add a unique and memorable experience to your trip, this is the place to be!"
"Only complaint I have is the remote for the TV was missing from our room. Called the front desk and nobody ever brought a remote for the TV. Other than that, beautiful hotel and an amazing breakfast! Rooms were clean."
"Staff was friendly, my room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.-breakfast was delicious! My experience was great! I will be coming back. I came to town for the memorial day events-Vidalia is actually my home town"
"Wonderful experience! Like going back in time to a slower pace. Clean comfortable and beautiful. Spent the morning on the 2nd floor balcony listening to birds and drinking coffee. 😍 Lovely."
"Upon my arrival I was told the elevator was down but since my room was on the first floor it wasn’t a problem. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. I enjoyed my stay."
