"Beautiful and modern. A home away from from home feeling. So close to a lot of my favorite restaurants and at was easy to navigate through the local neighborhood. Definitely would recommend to a family or friend. And look forward to it being my new getaway when visiting San Antonio. "

"Very helpful and friendly staff. Hot breakfast was waffles. Clean room. Bathroom needed updating but everything worked. Good price per night. Soft pillows were a bonus. Only concern our AC froze up but after turning it off for few hours it work fine again. It's perfect walking distance from river Walk and shops. Only con was pool was out of service. "

"The house was impressive on the outside when we arrived. Once inside, the initial impression was good. As we checked things out, though, we found some things that we were not happy with.
The fan in Master bedroom did not work. The remote control had corroded batteries in it. I did find a new battery in a drawer and tried to make it work, but it never did.

"There are a few things you should know before you book. This property is nice. We had a good stay, but immediately upon arrival you will realize that there are many rules to abide by or you will lose your deposit. It became a running joke between all of us during our stay. We were actually very careful to try to do everything correctly so that we would not lose the deposit. We took very good care of the home. "From check-in to check-out, the staff were friendly and accomodating. Stayed for three nights. I found the bed to be uncomfortable after the first night and the room wasn't cooling like it should. I was immediately relocated to another room where the bed was more suitable and the temperature was much better. The Menger is an old hotel and as such some things like water pressure, water temperature, and cooling may be affected. However, the hotel staff did go out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay - and I absolutely did! The convenience of a short walk to the Alamo and the Riverwalk brings entertainment, dining, and shopping to the point where a car wasn't needed. Information services is inside the hotel where you can book the trolley, the river cruise, and other available services. When we decide to go back to San Antonio, this is the hotel that I would love to stay at once again. "
