"I would have given a better rating but my room had no curtains other than a thin white curtain. It was daytime by 4:30 and could not sleep any more. Informed the front desk in the morning and she said the rooms usually have curtains and did not know why mine did not have any. In any case it was a poor experience."

"When we got to the hotel they said they don't participate with Hotels.com and refused to accept our voucher even after we showed them both hard copy and email versions of the voucher. No one actually spoke any English so we had to use translation programs on our phones to communicate. We paid to stay there anyway. It turned out that the location was outside of the city center and hard to get to. The air conditioning leaked water into the room so we had to turn it off. Breakfast was very poor quality. They didn't clean our room during the 3 nights or even give us clean towels or a new roll of toilet paper. Getting anything resolved was difficult due to language."

"I really wanted to give this hotel a better rating, but it came up short in many areas. The room was comfortable but housekeeping was minimal. I checked in on Sunday and didn't see a fresh towel until Thursday. Bed was never made during my week - long stay. No hot water the last two times I took a shower. Noisy! There was a youth soccer team in the two floors below, and twice I had to tell the front desk about the noise that came up the open stairwell like an echo chamber; the second time, the boys were playing ball in the hallway. Room features were inconvenient: only one light switch at the entrance, so I had to use my cell phone to find my way back to the bed after turning out the lights. Very little space on the bathroom vanity. Positives: the staff was courteous. Breakfast was good. The location is a bit away from the central sites (but near the train station 2), and easy for taxis to find and take you around for 1000-2500 tenge."

"The Uyut Hotel was in a very quiet location but easy to walk to restaurants and shops. The breakfast was included and was very extensive. "
