"My only negative was the stale urine odor in the designated parking garage next to the hotel. It's not their garage and I understand this is unavoidable in any parking garage in any city.
The staff of the hotel was great, as usual. Helpful with minor information like bus routes and such.
I was spending my checkout day in NYC and needed a place for my vehicle as I was taking mass transit to and around the city. I decided to extend my stay one night so I could stay parked in the garage, and went to the front desk. I spoke to Austin about keeping my room. The Friday night rate was $409. He found a way to get the room for about $320. That was more than what I paid for two of my three prior nights, and I was unwilling to stay at that rate.
We talked about why I was trying to stay and Austin became Awesome Austin!
He comped me a late checkout and allowed me to keep my vehicle in the garage until I returned from NYC. His only requirement was that I be out of the garage by midnight. I told him that was absolutely no problem. Even if it was, I would've cut short any plans to be back by then in appreciation of his kindness! I did everything I wanted to do in NYC and was out of the garage by 8:00 p.m.
I am so grateful for Austin going above and beyond, and in total transparency, I checked with him to make sure this glowing review would not get him in trouble for his actions. He told me it would not.
La Quinta Secaucus is my go-to, Austin was a great addition to my stay!"
