The Westin Southfield Detroit

6/10 Okay

"I wanted to give "Excellent" responses for the staff questions, but the failure to provide housekeeping service on my final day influenced my scoring. More importantly, while reporting the lack of service I was told the housekeeping staff said the "Do not disturb" sign was on the door. It was not, and I never decline housekeeping service. Unfortunately this was the conclusion of a very guiet and nice stay at your property, which I have enjoyed since it's opening many years ago."

"The ladies at the front desk were personable and incredibly helpful. The asthetic of the room is beautiful and there are some options for food onsite in Chenin (which was terrific) and the Cafe downstairs. As someone from out of town, having access to a microwave somewhere on site would have been helpful. Location is terrific, and I've recommended to all of my friends."

"Very disappointed with my stay at MotorCity Casino Hotel. For a hotel advertised as 4-star quality, the cleanliness and guest experience fell far below expectations. The room had visible stains on the curtains, dirt and debris buildup around the floors and corners, and overall looked poorly maintained. What made it worse was the response from staff. Offering to clean the room an hour before checkout is not an actual remedy when the issue existed the entire stay. There was also no clock in the room, which seems like a basic hotel amenity, and no one informed me about the room credits available to guests until I specifically asked — by then it was too late to even use them. The casino itself has a nice atmosphere, but the hotel side seriously needs improvement in housekeeping, communication, and customer service. For the price and reputation, I expected so much better."

"Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was very disappointing. I encountered roaches in the room and when I brought the issue to staff’s attention, they were dismissive and simply told me to contact the general manager by email. I reached out to management over a week ago and still have not received any response. I expected much better customer service and follow-up regarding such a serious concern."
