"We arrived from a cruise ship. Google maos indicated a half mile walk, but it was closer to one mile. They held our bags until the room was ready. The room was great with a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was the typical, with cold cuts, cereal and pasteries. We would definately stay again."
"Information about checking in was poor. We arrived around 7pm thinking we would get a key from the desk - but the desk closed at 1 and you needed a code to get in. Fortunately a resident gave us the code and showed us the lockbox where our key was waiting in an envelope. We photographed our passports and emailed them as requested and asked for a later checkout. We didn’t get a response. The next morning I emailed again and was told no late checkout. When we went to checkout they said they didn’t get our email from the night before. In the end we were able to leave our bags for a few hours. So, while the apartment was fine, communication was not."
"Our flight was delayed, but staff gave us great welcome and upgraded our room for free. Room was clean and excellent view. Breakfast was amazing. I will definitely will be back and refer this hotel to my friends and family."
"The staff was completely uncaring and unhelpful. There was no ventilation in our room. None at all. When I asked at the front desk I was told someone would take a look at it. When I asked again an hour later they said they called to have it inspected. When we got back from. dinner no one had been there. When I checked again with the front desk (in person since the phone did not work) I was told it was inspected and nothing was wrong. I was told that all of the rooms were the same temperature and it was suggested i sleep with the windows open. There was an obvious error code on the thermostat and all of the other rooms had their patio doors closed so I assumed their climate was working. So I was lied to twice by the front desk. And they were very smug and rude about everything. Even at check in. We have been all over the world in many hotels and have never been treated so poorly. Yes. The pool and location is great but does not even begin to compensate for the staff behavior at the price. This was our sixth visit to Portoroz and I will never stay at this hotel again. There are much better choices."
"Nicely appointed hotel and courteous staff. Central location is walkable to key points of interest. Parking is an issue. HVAC did not respond to controls. Otherwise, a keeper."
"I loved my stay here at the Hotel Miramare ! The room was very clean and fresh with the bathroom, clean as well. I had a room overlooking the Adriatic with lounge chairs and enjoyed a relaxing ( but cool) evening outdoors.
The restaurant had a very good tapas type menu. I had the baba Ganoush as well as the meatballs and they were wonderful ! Pricing was very good for the food as well as the drinks. The breakfast the next day was amazing with a full continental breakfast including cheese, cured meats, coffee, croissants, etc. While it is a bit outside of Trieste proper, parking was free ( compared to crazy driving and parking in the city ). I would recommend taking the 6 bus into the city as the bus stop is only a short distance away and is only a few Euros. The staff was wonderfully accomodating from the front desk to the wait staff. Very pleasant stay at Hotel Miramare ! "
