"BLOOD, URINE, STAINED MATTRESS.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this hotel has earned one.
I was allocated Room 105 and was genuinely shocked by the condition of it. The room contained heavily stained carpets and cushions, mould in the bathroom, curtains that did not close properly, evidence of cigar smoke, an unknown substance on the headboard and, most concerningly, visible blood and urine stains on the mattress.
The hotel's defence has been that I was offered the opportunity to move rooms. Whilst technically true, I had just arrived for a holiday and did not want to spend my first afternoon unpacking, repacking and moving because the room provided was clearly below an acceptable standard.
The situation became far more serious later that evening when the television fell off the wall. At that point I immediately went to reception and requested to be moved as I no longer felt safe in the room.
What has disappointed me most is the response afterwards. I contacted the hotel on several occasions seeking a reasonable resolution. I received one reply from Sonia, responded in detail, and then heard nothing further despite sending five additional emails. No acknowledgement, no explanation and no attempt to resolve the complaint.
The room I was eventually moved to was perfectly acceptable, which only highlighted how poor Room 105 actually was.
Poor cleanliness, poor maintenance and even worse customer service. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel."
