"The Riu Flamingos is amazing! The staff are extremely helpful and kind. The food was fantastic, especially the main buffet! The selection was unreal and always changing in the week. The beaches were kept quite clean and there’s plenty of loungers to use. Room was very well maintained. The reason it didn’t get 5 stars was: 1) The rooms were very small and with 2 double beds, they had them set up pushed together, so it was a giant king bed style and that wasn’t ideal at all. 2) The drinks, specifically anything slushy, like a piña colada, were not good at all. Left a terrible aftertaste and just weren’t high-quality unfortunately. 3) The Friday we got there, the pools were clean, but every day after the pools got dirtier with sunscreen and other chemicals and they were murky and truly, disgusting by Sunday, which deterred us from even using the cool which was really disappointing. They definitely need to be cleaned MUCH better, especially with kids using them. Overall, the trip was great, just have a few things to work on!"

"It was OK. Food was good overall and pool was nice and well maintained. That said, hotels.com advertises $400 for use in the hotel and that was one of the main drivers for choosing this hotel vs others. Upon arrival it turns out it is 16 $25 coupons WHEN YOU SPEND $100. Coupons can't be used together so they are almost useless. The breakfast got super crowded due to being 1 restaurant for the whole hotel. And they were very unflexible with dinner reservations."

"Upon arriving in my hotel room, it was clearly dirty with cup stains everywhere. Shower glass was covered in mildew. No safe or chairs on our patio- clearly they were not ready for us, and that was after us unfortunately showing up late due to a flight cancellation. The staff were friendly and helpful. Pack your own lotion, shampoo, conditioner, etc. it was bad. The elevators were horrible - hopefully you’re on a lower floor because you can wait for up to 10 minutes for an elevator to arrive. Food is mediocre at best - some restaurants are only open on certain days and you may not be able to book at certain restaurants because it was a “change over week” leaving 1 restaurant or a buffet as your only option. The pool wait staff didn’t serve you nearly often enough (maybe once or twice a day) even when you tip them well. Around the pool there were dirty cups and plates everywhere, the wait staff did not clean those often enough. And we were there during their slow time (May) so I can’t imagine that it would’ve been better when it’s busy. It was overall a get what you paid for, wouldn’t stay for longer than a week max. "Highly recommend this property. We were very impressed with the cleaniness. 3 minute walk to the beach entrance. short walk to all other restraunts. Very quiet. They had complimentory coffee and filtred water in the lobby."
