Laura, the manager, was incredibly accommodating and welcoming. She truly embodied that classic Western hospitality you don’t come across every day. The hotel was clean, cozy, and had a homey charm that made it feel like a peaceful and welcoming place to land in the mountains of Idaho City. I’d absolutely stay again. I only stayed for the night, but I wish I had stayed longer to check out all the neat western stores and restaurants in walking distance. Great stay!
The Idaho City Hotel was fine - small, clean, quiet. Had to check in at a bar. Took awhile to find someone that knew how to do the check in. Innkeeper was nice. No problem there. Didn't like the town. Couldn't find anything to eat except in a couple of nasty bars. Everything closed for July 4th. We would not return.
We had a fun time exploring this town. Everything is within walking distance. The only problem my daughter had was the tv wasn’t working while we were there.
Lovely little hotel in Idaho City. Very comfortable bed. Well maintained. Off a usually quiet street, except for Idaho City Day celebration. They blocked off main St ,so Montgomery was the way in and out. Lovely hospitality shown by Laura. We enjoyed our stay.

Gold-Mining Historic Idaho City Hotel
We were completely delighted with this historic hotel in the tiny mountain town of Idaho City. The room with one queen bed was lovely, and the common room across the hall homey and cozy, with coffee. Pretty period antiques in charming lobby; long front porch with rockers. Added bonus was our walk through gold- mining town with several original structures on the National Register.
Nice charming property , small room , no air conditioning

Plastic on the bed made is noisy and sweaty so I had to take a second shower in the morning. Whoever set up the room - didn't kno what they were going.
