"We loved our remote cabin which overlooked the volcanic glacier and the glass design meant the sun streamed in. The beds were super comfortable and there was a small amount of tea and coffee available. The bedroom and shower worked very well. We found the cabin very handy to travel into the next village for food and took several trips out in the car around the waterfalls and hot springs. "The first to say is that Midgard Base Camp does not feel like the stereotypical hostel that one imagines. This starts with the lobby area that has a fun and cozy setup and the restaurant and bar area. Also, the room options are more than just a shared room with bunk beds and community bathrooms. Those do exist but we stayed in a private family room with a private bathroom. There is a hot tub and sauna that we also used. Gina, the hostess, is very fun and provided us with good information. The location fit our needs for our tour of the South of Iceland. There isn’t much else around this area to stay and Midgard offered a good option and is also close to various food options. We would definitely return. "
