"The pictures are definitely deceiving. The room is smaller in person and it smelled moldy. We had to leave and find another hotel"

"Check-in at Harbor Inn Destin was nice, and the view from the room was great, but unfortunately the overall stay was disappointing. The lobby is older and not as clean as it could be. There were broken tiles, and the elevator area was absolutely nasty and took forever to arrive. The floors throughout the hotel looked dirty as well. The room itself had a major moisture issue. It was so humid that the floors and carpet felt sticky, there was condensation on the mirrors, and the room smelled very musty, almost like mold, even though we couldn’t actually see any mold. The first night there was a dog barking in the stairwell most of the night, which made it hard to sleep. The second night was a little quieter, thankfully. The bathtub also would not drain properly and held water while showering. We called the front desk to report it, but no one ever came to fix it. This property has potential because the location and views are beautiful, but they really need to update the rooms, improve cleanliness, fix the humidity issues, and respond better to guest complaints — especially barking dogs in the middle of the night."
