"The rooms are very clean but the bed is hard. All of the staff in the food service area and bar are amazing. The lady who makes the omelets and waffles is friendly and makes a great omelet. The main issue I had was there were unsupervised children running everywhere and no one said anything. They were playing on the elevator and throwing things over the ledge at people on the bottom floor. I said something to the staff at the desk but I don’t think they cared. I definitely think there should be standards about how many people fit in a room. On a positive the hospitality hour is very nice and again the wait staff is amazing. We ordered wings and they were delicious. It’s a very nice hotel just needs to control the environment."

"Upon checking in, we found the front desk host to be irritable at best. He tried to be nice, but he's in the wrong profession. The lobby was dark with almost no lights, and very unwelcoming. They don't turn on the AC in warmer weather even when they know a guest checks in at 3 pm, so the room was hot and took a while to cool off. Two queen beds were more like two twin beds and the sheets and comforter were yellow and looked tired. The AC unit at the window clunked along all night. The room window was covered in bird crap etc. and hard to see out of. There wasn't anything in the room like pads, pens, a binder of local restaurants... nothing. We left at 4 am just to get out of there and the overnight front desk person was just as irritable. Finally, there was a drug deal right outside the hotel in broad day light while we were unloading the car. And the person who got the drugs stumbled inside the hotel and could hardly use the elevator."

"Breakfast area clean and staff was attentive, but my wife needs to eat gluten free and there was not much selection for her, so we went next door to Perkins for breakfast."

"We typically stay in name brand hotels when visiting family in the Gettysburg area, but we decided to give downtown a try this trip. We did not regret it. The hotel is lovely and so, so convenient. It was great being in the center of the action! We will choose Hotel Gettysburg over the chains when we visit in future."

"The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable! The bathroom was tiny and the toilet felt like it belonged in an elementary school. It’s a cool old house! Staff was nice but there seems to be a disconnect with communication between the owner and them. We got several automated messages but staff was unaware of what they said. Also, do NOT spend the extra money for the “gourmet” breakfast! It’s not great and definitely not worth the price. Go to one of the cute local places instead. Overall, good… could use some improvements!"

"Unstaffed front desk Wednesday-Thursday. Trash on floor on arrival. No in house service. Dark hallways. No ventilation in bathroom. Poor fitness center. Staff was friendly when they interacted. Breakfast marginal. AC worked fine. Disappointed for the price."
