Hontoon Island State Park Hotels

"Breakfast was great and plenty of choice and nice food. Could not get a tea kettle though in the room so difficult for drinks if you can’t drink caffeine like me. Had to also ask for coffee machine as shown in the hotels pictures of the rooms as they have now removed them all. Coffee machines are in reception only with a hot water dispenser which regularly rubs out of water!!! The room as ok but ALOT of noise from the road right out side the room and AC very loud both things made sleep difficult!! Would not stay again unfortunately. "

"The room itself was just ok. It seems as if cleaning is very rushed. The corners in the room and hallways were quite dusty. The whole place seemed runned down and old but the rooms had newer upgrades. The pool area definitely does not look like the photos. The AC had to run constantly in order to keep the room at 71 degrees and it was pretty loud. The main issue I had is that I reserved a king suite via hotels.com but was given a basic double queen room on arrival. When I mentioned I reserved and paid for a king suite, the employee said there was nothing she could do since there were no king suites available. I’m currently working with hotels.com to be reimbursed for the difference. We chose this specific hotel since it was the only one that offered a shuttle to the Sanford airport and they were accommodating to that. While most staff was kind to our faces, the one that checked us in seemed to be irritated or annoyed when speaking to other guests on the phone. Overall it served its purpose but I wouldn’t stay again if I didn’t have to and I wouldn’t recommend it unless someone really needed the Sanford airport shuttle. "

"Excellent place to stay. I needed a nice place fairly close to Orlando Sanford Airport for early flight. I would definitely recommend for longer visits. I will definitely be back when in the vicinity. "

"Morning staff was lovely, and that’s the only nice thing I have to say…Roaches in one room and disgusting, sticky carpet in the other room (we had 2 rooms). I had to wear shoes the whole time because my feet literally stuck to the floor. Seriously, checked each bed for bugs just in case! If it had not been that we needed desperately to crash for about 7 hours I would have turned around and found another place. All hotels were booked in the area, this was the only one left in a 15 mile radius…now I know why. "
