"Break"

"The Galt House has undergone a major transformation since the last time my husband and I stayed there...it is beautiful! Our only complaint is that we ordered room service, and our food was not inexpensive (78.00 for breakfast and 98.00 for late dinner). The food had great flavor but for the price, we were disappointed that it was lukewarm to cold and served in to-go containers as opposed to real tableware. Our coffee for breakfast was like ice coffee."

"The room was not ready when we arrived at 1:00 AM. The next day, we asked for shower gel because it hadn't been refilled, and it took them an hour to bring it to us. I did not use the bar or the restaurant, so I have no opinion on them; however, the staff members were very attentive."

"The first room we were assigned still had their trash and belongings and was obviously not cleaned (their bags were still in the room, the bed was used/linens everywhere) The second and last room they had that we were assigned had a door that did not lock. This meant we had to pack all of our belongings into the car every time we left the room and crossed our fingers that we wouldn’t find strangers in our bed upon our return. Very very dirty. Sticky counters, dirty rugs, dripping walls, roaches and roach droppings. Hotel is also a halfway house/homeless shelter. The residents for the most part left us alone except for the ones that loitered outside, but I felt so unsafe. The hotel staff was not trained and unprofessional. I believe they were people from the halfway house who were hired (which is great for the community but not the type of person I want to attempt to communicate with when something is wrong). Not updated (and seemingly not deep cleaned) since the 70s. The air in the room took about 2 days to turn on, it only worked out last day there. Every time we passed the front desk, there were others who rented who tried pleading with front desk for help, but their words fell upon deaf ears (I’ve heard a couple tell them they were suffocating due to lack of airflow because the HVAC wasn’t working, I saw a woman tell them she had dirty linens and dirty towels with hair in it, I saw a couple tell them their room they were assigned was dirty)"

"We've stayed in this hotel several times because of how convenient it is to downtown activities. This most recent time was to visit The Palace Theatre. The hotel is nice, but the rooms need updating. The last few beds that we had were pretty bad. The room was a bit shabby, but the beds definitely need to be replaced if nothing else. The rooftop restaurant has very good food, but the hours are inconsistent and they are clearly understaffed. "

"Only complaint is when i booked it said free parking. Then saw a $40 charge for parking on my checkout receipt "

"Clean room, friendly staff, sucks you have to pay for parking but was still a nice hotel and quiet which I can appreciate. "

"The quality of the breakfasts served was an unexpected surprise. Gourmet biscuits and gravy like no other that I've ever had. It began with really good coffee and a chilled strawberry puree cup. Definitely not what the Hampton Inns or Holiday Inn Express has to offer. The well cared for Victorian era elegance, an exceptionally large room and bath made the DuPont my go to B&B in Louisville."
