"Was there for a conference and stayed through the hurricane. I cannot express enough gratitude for the excellent staff at Grand Naniloa. From the kitchen - yes still catering and offering clean water, to the engineers to the front desk to the valet and cleaning crews. This was a stressful time for everyone around the islands and especially for Hawaii! This hotel did a great job keeping us all informed, safe, fed and hydrated through a wild weekend. Sure it would have been nice to "use more amenities," but watching the hotel operate as a well oiled machine during a storm was magic. Glow sticks during the power outage was cherry on top! Thank you for welcoming evacuees and guests with aloha and flexibility! You have my business for life!"
"Great location - coffee across the street and many eateries nearby. We stayed in the peaceful wing - and peaceful it was! The room was tiny but very clean!"
"Clean and stylish hotel - a great location to explore Kona on foot or a great hub for all other island trips by car! There is a beach/bay practically in the backyard where you can snorkel (and see some cool fish/coral) kayak, paddle board etc. Amenities were great (pool, beach towels/chairs, bikes) but do require a $25/day charge NOT included in the Expedia prices. The view from our room was absolutely amazing (ocean and mountain). Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! Worth the stay, the price, and would stay here again and/or recommend this to a friend! :)"
"Great property, friendly staff. Biggest complaint would be how much they seem to prioritize Hula shows over hotel guests. Couldn’t find a parking spot during hula shows because the parking lot was packed with visitors, pool closes early. Other than that, would definitely stay here again."
"We really enjoyed our four-night stay at Hilton Kings' Land. Our two-bedroom, two-bathroom deluxe suite was spacious and well-maintained, offering great convenience with its full kitchen and in-unit washer and dryer. The golf resort view from our room was also very beautiful. The resort's own pool complex was fantastic, featuring two fun waterslides and lava rock waterfalls. Additionally, the location is great because it is very close to beautiful Kohala Coast beaches like Hapuna Beach and Anaehoʻomalu Bay.
However, there are a few things to keep in mind. While guests get access to the main Hilton Waikoloa Village, the shuttle service was quite frustrating. The timetable was not reliable, and total transit could take anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, including up to a 30-minute wait for the shuttle. Driving yourself takes only five minutes, but parking is hectic with a 15-plus minute walk. My tip is to stick with Kings' Land's own pool because it is far more convenient and enjoyable. We also noticed a few large dead cockroaches in the Kings' Land pool. Given the surrounding tropical gardens, bugs landing in the water is somewhat expected, but better surface skimming by maintenance would help.
Despite the shuttle issues and the minor pool skimming need, Kings' Land is a high-quality property. We highly recommend staying here and enjoying the wonderful on-site amenities."
"This is a dated property. But the staff make up for it. The amenities are solid. The power went out but that was due to the hurricane. They didn't have a generator. That needs to be addressed. I would stay here again."
"The gym here is excellent! The equipment is better than the big gym chain that I attend. Nice amenities like free reef safe sunscreen and multiple clean bathrooms open 24 hours throughout the property. Great staff!"
