"This feels far more like a 4* hotel than a 3*. The room was perfectly clean, a good size, with a comfortable bed and perfectly adequate amenities. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout. Highly recommended."

"Clean and tidy room, but I do wonder if it is overpriced. The location is great, but the weather each year is the same - pro-longed periods of hot weather but the rooms are not suitable as they are like furnaces. Hotels all over the UK and many other businesses are not taking action to deal with such conditions. A small fan is not sufficient and I understand the hotel is of an age Air Con is not possible to be fitted, but more fans would have been ideal. They were unable to provide our room earlier, as they were sourcing a fan to put in the room + house keeping still ended to sign it off, so it is clear there are not enough fans for all the rooms, never mind two. I know the hot weather is something they are unable to control, but with the rooms being so hot, and it often being a yearly regular occurance, a good nights sleep wasn't possible, one bit. For the price we paid, over £230 for the lead in room, it wasn't value for money. We have stayed a few times before - no recognition of this fact. The breakfast was lovely but the continental offering has reduced down quite a bit since we last came a few years ago. Again, things change but it was noticeable the accessible items were reduced and the range was limited. Hot breakfast was tasty, well cooked, great ingredients and not greasy at all. "

"Pros: Location is great, only walking distance to the waterfront. Stayed for one night due to a business meeting the next day. The bedroom was spacious. Very quiet area, apart from the noisy seagulls in the middle of the night! The host lady was helpful, be aware the reception closes at 9.30pm so if you arriving later make sure you message the property! Cons: The property on the inside feels and looks tiring and will definitely benefit from some renovation works, carpet does not give a good impression on the upper floors and within the bedroom itself. Check any appliances in your room such as as kettles, smoke was coming out from my kettle so i immediately remove from the socket. There is limited site parking and is very much controlled by traffic wardens."

"this hotel is in a great location, right on the seafront a couple of min walk from the pier and only a 5min walk from the town centre. the rooms are large, and well equipped with a table and chairs, dressing table, large double bed and wardrobe with a hairdryer, iron and ironing board in the room also. the downside is that the hotel could really do with having some investment, while everything worked in the room it is dated and somethings in need of repair/upgrading. the shower curtain for example only covered 3/4 of the shower so the floor got wet when used. the shower holder was difficult to adjust and missing a cover. while these art major problems they are little things that drop it from a 4star to a 3star stay in my opinion. All that said for the price I would definitely stay here again."

"While working in Hastings I needed to find accommodation for 1 final night & I found Alexander’s hotel on Carlisle Parade on the website & booked my stay through Hotels.com. Upon arrival I was greeted by the owners Keith, Wendy & Misty the very clever owners dog. After explaining why I chose their hotel apart from the cost etc they immediately upgraded my stay to a double room facing the seafront which was perfect with an ensuite power shower a large comfortable bed which gave me a great night’s sleep. I work in Hastings a few months of the year & would certainly recommend staying at Alexander’s hotel if you want value for money & a convenient base to explore all that it has to offer."
