"Excellent place to stay for the state wrestling tournament at ONU. Very clean. Nice amenities, especially the work out facilities! Cori Thomas, Operations Supervisor Sales Coordinator was extremely helpful with some special requests I had to surprise my grandson and she did great! He was so impressed! She was also very helpful with coordinating the process of paying for the stay as I wanted to surprise my family also because I could not attend. Everything was perfect and Cori was on her game! Courteous, efficient, imaginative and responded so quickly! I’m impressed and would definitely book another stay! "
"The facility is falling apart. Pool closed due to ceiling tiles coming off. Leaking water in the halls. TVs are different in each room and I had to use my streaming service from home just to watch tv. Molding coming off the windows."
"The hotel stay was overall about a 2–3 out of 5 for us, and unfortunately I would not recommend it. We were in town for a baseball tournament and specifically chose a room with a kitchen so we could cook reliable meals for our player instead of constantly eating out. However, the kitchen was basically unusable because there were no cooking supplies provided — no cookware, plates, cups, or silverware.
The biggest issue was the stairwell area. Trash was overflowing from the garbage cans and piled all around them, creating a horrible smell — honestly like walking through a dumpster. It appeared the trash had been sitting there for quite some time, and with how bad it was, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were maggots around the area as well.
Overall, the cleanliness and lack of basic accommodations made the stay very disappointing, especially for families traveling for sports tournaments who rely on the amenities advertised when booking."
"This is a convenient location for not only the Lima, OH area but also for those looking to do something at Ohio Northern University (ONU) in Ada, OH some 15 miles away. ONU has its own inn but it gets full and even when it isn't it can be expensive at times as the Inn is the only place in town. The Howard Johnson's is a great nearby alternative. The Howard Johnson's has a great enclosed entertainment area with a pool but also a pool table that can be used by guests for $1.25 a game; a air hockey table at $1 a game and ping pong for free It also has playground sets for toddlers in another area. Near various restaurants as it dues not have its own restaurant. Although it has its own great hot breakfast. Unfortunately, the last day we were there happened to be the first time after staying there several times that they had less than good food. It still wasn't terrible. A bonus is that breakfast is served until 10 AM every morning. It is a older hotel so it has issues. Even my TV was a pain to use so it isn't perfect. Overall a worthwhile stay.
It will be our last stay there though. This is not an indictment of the hotel. We utilized this HoJo's several times when we visited my son during his time at ONU. However, his time there has come to an end as he graduated last weekend. I will kind of miss the place. I will certainly miss ONU."
"Good spot for the price. I’ve stayed here twice before and I will stay here again. Nothing to brag about, but it’s acceptable accommodations for the price."
