An excellent hotel in the middle of everything! Very nice and comfortable rooms with great furniture for enjoying travel companions in the room. (In case you don’t want to, or have the energy to get out in the evening) We have nothing but good to say about this hotel.

Excellent hotel - super restaurant

Hotel van der Valk in Hildesheim is a pleasant place. Really well situated, nice rooms, very service oriented, cheap secure parking and a brilliant restaurant with a 5 star breakfast. We will be back.

Lovely to look at, great breakfast, quiet and very comfortable room. Lacking a kettle, plug for sink and milk, despite having a little fridge. Annoying that reception sent me to line up at the kitchen to get milk forbtea when requested.

Loved almost everything about it!

Loved the hotel. It was perfectly located in the old place in the market square. The room was beautiful and our room had a view of the square, which with windows open was a bit noisy, but so worth it! The breakfast was amazing, chose the homemade orange juice, it was remarkable! The swimming pool was nice and the infrared sauna was worth a visit, also loved the ice shower. The changing room was more like an ulockable bathroom. We will definitely stay here again if ever in Hildesheim!

Excellent choice, wonderful hotel

This is a wonderful find. This hotel surpassed my expectation. We loved the interior, pool and the breakfast was amazing. We will certainly stay again there on our way back from Poland.

I loved the hotel the front desk young lady that checked me in was very helpful, she booked my massage with Valentina who was fabulous and exactly what I needed she helped me find a converter I needed and they the most delicious buffet breakfast with a wonderful staff I asked for crispy bacon and the next 2 mornings that is exactly what I got!!! Pool could have been a bit warmer (though I forgot to ask as I am certain they would have accommodated and they need to get an English speaking news station. Perfect place to stay I look forward to returning soon!

Great Hotel with a fantastic location

Stunning hotel with an amazing location. Only slight downside is the small interaction we had with the hotel staff was blunt and bordering on rude. The spa was also closed but this was not communicated at check in. May seem harsh on the review, as the stay otherwise was fantastic. Maybe the staff had a bad day, and the 3 minutes I spent with him was completely against the norm.

The hotel was very traditional and building has lots of history located in the central of the Hildesheim downtown. The room was spacious but smelled like old storage or barn. The shower was modernized but water kept dripping from the shower nozzle even complete shut down and wet towel was placed when I entered the room. Other than that, I enjoyed the hotel and service, breakfast is awesome.

Pricey but good

The location of the hotel can be a bit tricky to find. It faces onto the Market in front of the Rathaus, but the main entrance is down a side street which opens out. Signage should be improved as the doors onto the Markt itself arelocked for the cooler parts of the year. That was the only problem. The location is great, 11 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof and in the (rebuilt) old town. Probably the best hotel in town, certainly it is closer to what you would expect to pay in a big city! But the facilities, location and quietness are worth it. Breakfast is way too expensive if you just want a roll and a coffee, but plenty of choice in town. Recommended.

Not plesant dinner

Vi ´have visited Van der Valk in Hildesheim more times, and this time all was ok, exept our experience in the resturant. We order a before dinner drink, and a 3 course menu, a bottle of wine and a bottle of water. Afetr app. 20 min we aske for the drink, and got the wine, together with the starter menu, and no before dinner drink. We got it after we asked again for it - the water we got during the main course, again after we aske for it. The desert we never got - ok it was not on the bill - but all in all a not plessant dinner. The food was really ok, that the only positiver in that. And the service people was not in a hurry, our had time to averything else than help us.
