"The best hotel I’ve stayed at! Felt more like a private villa the whole time. Spotlessly clean, spacious and truly laxorious rooms. The pool and the living areas so beautiful and relaxing. The food, amazing! Best breakfasts we had in Sri Lanka. Ate also every vegetarian option and almost every seafood option from the menu - everything was so fresh and delicious. The breakfast coffee was the best coffee I had in Sri Lanka. The staff is so discreet and helpful, always smiling. This is truly a 5...

"We had a great 3-night stay at Coast 67. The most stunning setting, overlooking the sea and the fairly private beach (there are only a handful of hotels that have access to this beach, so there are no local sellers or other tourists). Being able to walk from the pool, to the sunbeds, to the sand and the sea in just a couple of minutes is bliss.
The food was delicious, plus the dining staff were really friendly and warm. The breakfasts are healthy (albeit western focused, rather than sri...

"Stylish, peaceful and perfectly located for exploring the south coast. We think Ahangama is the best town for a mix of relaxation and great dining options. The staff were incredibly welcoming and the breakfasts were a real highlight. A lovely boutique stay... would happily return."

"Absolutely stunning place! Loved everything about it, definitely need to make this your destination when visiting South Sri Lanka. From service to food to the views, you won’t be disappointed. "

"Very calm and peaceful. The people who work there are very nice and friendly. They gave us an extra upgrade, so we had our own villa with pool. We love this place with the wonderful garden and animals. "

"It was my girlfriend’s first time visiting Sri Lanka and Ahangama was the first place we had been on the coast since she got here. Because of this we decided to spend a bit more on a hotel for a bit of a nicer stay. However what we got from a Timeless Villa was not this. We had various basic amenities missing from our room, for example we had no hand towels and we also did not get a kettle so had to ask staff to get us one from another room. We also only had one plug point where the kettle was...

South Point Cottage - Whole Villa 3 Bedrooms (Sleeps 6)
10/10 Excellent
"We had originally booked South Point Cottage but didn’t end up staying there – the owner has a few properties and we were placed at South Point Abbey instead. The Abbey is a gorgeous old colonial villa right on the ocean, with four big bedrooms that could easily fit two families. The walls are built from coral stone, there’s a lovely pool, and you have direct access straight onto the beach.
The staff were fantastic – they took care of everything and cooked the most amazing Sri Lankan breakfasts, plus some western dishes for the kids which they loved. The whole place felt calm, spacious and very serene.
A special mention to the manager, Gamini – such a kind and gentle man who gave us great tips on what to see and do nearby. We’d definitely recommend this beautiful spot to anyone looking for a relaxing stay."
We also only had one plug point where the kettle was supposed to go so we had to unplug the fridge in order to boil the kettle. But this was just the start of our terrible experience. At breakfast I asked for an extra slice of bread and they said I would be charged for this! I think that fact alone is outrageous considering how much we were paying. We had already stayed at various hotels in Sri Lanka at this point and they were all much better in terms of both service and comfort. We paid a lot less for a lot more basically. The view, pool and convenience of the beach being there is the only thing that kept us there. We booked for 3 nights but actually wanted to leave after the first. But we didn’t want to deal with all the hassle that would involve and potentially loose out on money as we had pre paid. We did also mention our grievances to a member of staff but they were only new so we didn’t want to take it out on them. However I think they could have raised it to their managers and I think we could’ve had been compensated a bit better."
"From the moment we arrived at Kahanda Kanda Hotel, our experience felt like stepping into a tropical paradise. The scenic drive from the gate to the reception is a beautiful prelude to what this enchanting property has to offer. Every aspect of our stay was nothing short of magical.
We celebrated our 23rd anniversary in the DUBU honeymoon villa, and it exceeded every expectation we had. Our days were blissfully spent lounging in our private pool, enjoying leisurely meals served poolside, and reading in the soothing shade. While we ventured out to explore the local beaches and diving spots, our favorite moments were simply spent soaking in the serene beauty of Kahanda Kanda itself.
“Magical moments” is the perfect description of our time here, and we are immensely grateful to the incredible staff who went above and beyond to make our stay truly unforgettable. Thank you, Kahanda Kanda, for a dream-like anniversary getaway!"
