Nice short break

We recommend this hotel. It was nice to be able to open the window because the air conditioning did not work properly. We would definitely return to the hotel but not in the hot weather.

A good hotel within an acceptable price range

Everything was perfect at the hotel. Staff and receptionists were nice and friendly. Breakfast was not the most fanciest one but it was good and delicious. As the only negative point for this hotel can be the number of available parking lots. But in case all of them are occupied, the guest can part its car in a closed parking house near to the hotel.

Nice but beds were hard

The double bed was on the hard side & the sofa bed was very hard. The room was only just big enough & we had to walk sideways to get past the sofa bed to the bathroom. The treats for not having the room cleaned didn’t turn up but I got them after asking. The water dispenser is the breakfast juice dispenser, so had to fill up between diners. The shower & split bathroom were good, as was the internet.

Comfortable rooms - issues with airconditioning

The ibis Styles Barmbek is located across the road from the Barmbek station and a 5 minute walk to the local shopping centre. The rooms are of a good size however the airconditioning system is inadequate to cool the rooms. The first room we were allocated was at the back overlooking the railway line and was very hot due to the airconditioner not cooling the room. Spoke to front desk who offered either a key to open the window overlooking the railway line or some form of evaporative cooler. We declined and moved to a room at the front of the hotel that was a bit cooler. Overall this room's airconditioner was no better being unable to maintain a steady temperature. Clearly this hotel was not designed to cope with warmer days and encouraging guests to open windows exacerbates the problem by putting the system out of balance. Rooms at the front are much quieter than the rooms at the back.

Sehr kleines Zimmer, kein Schrankplatz und überhaupt zu wenig Staumöglichkeit. Sehr laut bei Zimmer zu den Bahngleisen, die ganze Nacht quietschende Bahngeräusche. Zimmer war sehr warm, Temperatur war nicht regulierbar.

Trotz Buchung 6 Monate vor Anreise und extra Bitte um ein ruhiges Zimmer am Ende des Ganges habe wir 3 Zimmer gegenüber dem Aufzug bekommen . Absolute Ignoranz beim CheckIn , angeblich voll ausgebucht .

Wir waren in diesem Jahr das zweite Mal in dem Hotel. Die Anbindung zur U und S Bahn ist sehr angenehm, weil sehr gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Hotel ist für unser Ansprüche top. Wer beim Frühstück nichts findet ist selber schuld. Wenn wir wieder in Hamburg sind, wäre das Hotel unser erstes Wahl.

Entgegen der Mitteilung durch das Check-in-Personal gab es einen Room-Service mit täglichem (nicht erwünschtem, weil nicht erforderlichem) Handtuch-Wechsel, möglicherweise als Reaktion auf meine Bewertung des Check-in. Die beim Empfang dreifach überhöht berechnete Kultur- und Tourismustaxe wurde auf meine Reklamation hin reduziert auf die tatsächliche Höhe. Bei den negativen Eindrücken bleibt das Fehlen eines Kleiderschranks, das mehrtägige Übernachtungen bei der Wäscheablage verkompliziert. Auch sollte man sich darüber im Klaren sein, dass die Hochbahn vor den Fenstern quietschend um die Kurve zum nahen U-/S-Bahnhof Barmbek fährt. Das Service-Personal für Zimmer wie Frühstück hat gut gearbeitet.
