"The lady of the property took time to ring and advise me of the spa not working properly, as it wasn’t working when we stayed a couple days before hand. she wanted to know how we felt about still booking before she took the payment out 😊 that was top notch 👌 not only that, she also went and warmed the room up for us as we were arriving 5 minutes before the last check in time at 7pm, so it was nice n cosy when we got in. Awesome service"

"Disappointing that the spa bath in room was non operational and apparently all spa baths were the same. Shower complicated control system. Tried to go fancy but failed. Included breakfast good but doesn't start until 8am. Dinner nice but exorbitantly overpriced. Single lane gravel road into property dangerous with lots of blind corners and cars travelling too fast. Had a number of near misses."

"The property was unique in the way that we felt completely relaxed and comfortable there. The new owners were onsite and very helpful. We even had a choice of pillows. The kitchen pavilion and is for guests to use. It was clean, well equipped and had a lovely area to sit. The chalets are very private set in lovely gardens. Huge king bed, good facilities, everything we needed. We’re fussy people, very happy chappies!"

"If you have the chance to stay at the Mangawhai Lodge, don't hesitate to book. We enjoyed every aspect of our recent two day stay with Jeannette serving as an excellent host. Our room looked out at the ocean and the beach was a short walk away. Restaurants are also close by with an impressive range of choices for a small village. Our only mistake was not booking at least another night."
