The outdoor pool had just opened for the season when we arrived so it was too cold for us, but it looked good. I recommend having a car if you can, it's an hour walk to the aquarium, partly along the beach and then through more industrial area, you need to cab or bus to town, but the bus isn't super frequent and it's very slow. Several stops. Not what we were used to coming from the efficiency of mainland Japan, so we ended up spending around 30-80 (CAD) a day on taxis to get anywhere in the surrounding area.
