"Room was spacious and clean. Bed was not very comfortable. Loved our balcony which had furniture on it. AC vent blows directly at the head of the bed making it too cold at the head of the bed. If you turn AC down the rest of the room is too warm. Hot water in the bath arrives quickly! Hallways and neighboring rooms made it noisy sometimes - used white noise machine in my phone to cover it up and was fine. There are many options for food. Breakfast in the cafe was very good, but pizza at the pizza restaurant was not. Coffee shop was appreciated and reasonably priced. Had a very good salad and sandwich at the bar outside near the pool. Swim up bar was handy and drink menu was extensive, but the drinks were not very good or maybe not well made? Front desk staff (Howard) was gracious and helpful. Wait staff at bars and cafe were attentive - not so much at the pizza restaurant. Pool attendants were friendly. Pool and lazy river seemed a little cloudy during our entire stay. Even when the pool area was crowded, we were able to find a chair and had a short wait to obtain a tube for floating. Biggest issue was the elevator situation. Often had to wait for more than one elevator to arrive with enough room to fit the two of us. Tip: use the freight elevator around the corner. It moves more slowly, but is never full."

"The room had a broken shower broken door handle but then there’s some rooms that are very nice and clean , feel as they should treat each room the same on how they welcome there customers."

"We stay here often. People are super nice. The only drawback is no place to shave legs in shower. Shower was a little dirty when checked in. Golf cart never seems to be available when need it."

RumFish Beach at TradeWinds

"When I checked in, Debbie at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She also works the sister resort, The Tradewind next door. I walked over and had questions regarding available showers for guest checked out but still spending time on the beach and Debbie was helpful with that amenity. One of the issues is the fact that there is public beach available in front of the guest chairs/umbrellas on the beach. You pay an upcharge for the front row, and you have the public with tents set up in front of you. Also, the Hilton Garden next door allows their DJ to play music and DJ so loud that you can hear it on the entire beach at the Rumfish. The system of standing in line in the morning is painful compared to the old system with the app on the phone for reserving chairs/umbrellas. Also, not that I use the pool, but there were more kids in the adult pool then adults. Finally, ice machines need updated so that there is ice available after 9:00 am."

"Excellent beach view. The room was large and very clean. The beach view was beyond beautiful the staff was very helpful check in was easy. The only negative was parking and even that was better than most hotels in the area"

"The staff was great, the room was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. Parking is an additional $5.xx and can be tight. If you are sharing a room with friends, you're gonna get close as the toilet and shower share a sliding door. Overall great stay."

The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach

"The Island Resort was a great place to land during our stay in Florida. The resort itself is older and smaller, but you cannot beat the pool and access to the beach! We loved having great food options available so close and the heated pool was where we landed on most days. It was very family oriented and had fun community gatherings on the patio between the resort and the beach. We loved sitting on the balcony and listening to the live music, all while enjoying the ocean view! We traveled with our 6 and 8 year old children and would definitely visit again!"

"Hotel was excellent. Very friendly staff, the property was clean and newly renovated. It’s right on the seawall, so access to the beach was very convenient. Our room had a balcony with a great view. We will definitely stay here again. "
