"I loved the Seymour Guest House. It felt like home and for my short overnight stay it gave me a taste of Guayaquil I wouldn't have gotten at a fancy hotel. "This property is not a common hostal. It doesn’t have a sign outside, it is dark inside (no windows), the check-in was confusing and stressful, and only cash is accepted (no credit cards). The owner keeps the keys at all times so you basically have to ask him to open the doors (main door and room door) every single time you come back from running errands. We didn’t like the oppressive feeling and the lack of privacy and freedom to come and go as we pleased. We get that safety is an issue in this...
