"I would check in advance with the hotel if the lifts are working properly and if their internet access is functioning. More than four times I had to take the stairs, because the lift never came. Or when the lift did arrive to my floor, it was packed with guests. I could not use it. I ended up taking the stairs. I suspect one of the lifts was broken. I also had lots of issues with the WIFI connection popping on and off. I have stayed at the hotel before and had no issues. It is in a great location."

"URBAN LOFT was a lovely place to stay for a week long trip to Berlin. It’s a short walk to the main train station where it is very easy to get anywhere else you’d like to go (get the travel pass, you’ll use it a lot). There are plenty of local cafes, restaurants and other places to eat and drink we found these all reasonably priced and always tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were always super clean and has great water pressure. The bed was very soft which was okay. The place is easy to recommend. However, the only downside is the air conditioning (AC), we stayed during the May heatwave and the room during the day and late evening stayed at 25-30 degrees. When the AC was on it would only go as low as 19 degrees and was not in the slightest cooling the room. When asking the staff they told us the AC is working as hard as it can across the building. The only way to cool the room was leaving the balcony door and blind open to let the cool night air come in."

"The room was clean and the staff very helpful. The location was fantastic! The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because two of the three elevators were out the second day we were there and there was some wear and tear on the headboards of the bed. They did give us early check-in, which was great!"

"Nice building and location. Needs some upkeep to be ranked higher, especially at its price point. Booked 2 rooms, initially for 3 people, but then added a fourth, keeping the number of rooms the same. Yet the hotel charged 10 Euros extra per night for the second person, despite not taking up any more space, which is something I have previously not encountered. Also, one of the elevators was out of service for our entire stay. Hallway carpets also looked rather worn. Worst, the AC was not working our first night. I was able to sleep in the heat, but not my spouse, who tried to get help at the front desk but was told hotels in Europe don't have AC! That has also not been my experience in years past. I suppose there was little the front desk could do about the situation late at night, but a better way to respond would be to apologize and promise to send someone to look at the system in the morning. We spent the night with the door open to try and lower the temperature with little success, but the street noise on a Saturday night was quite disturbing. The next morning as I was going out for a while I asked the front desk to have someone look at the cooling problem and was told someone would be sent. But after I returned 2 hours later my spouse informed me no one had been by. I then went back to the front desk and spoke with Ahmed, who sent Lucas right away, who was able to open a vent above a false ceiling which fixed the problem. Both Ahmed and Lucas deserve some recognition."
