Hampton Inn and Suites Amelia Island Historic Harbor Front

"We’ve stayed at many Hampton Inns in many states over the years but this location is a new favorite! The front desk staff is so friendly and helpful, the decor with the grand staircase creates a boutique hotel feel. Hot Coffee or tea, fresh fruit flavored water, and fresh cookies are a lovely touch as well! Our room was clean, spacious feeling and had a nice alcove with wet bar, refrigerator, small coffee maker and microwave. The king bed was very comfortable. It was also so quiet at night. The free breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve had. We stayed 3 nights and each morning there was something new in the hot buffet. Another wonderful touch is the nightly happy hour with free snacks and drinks to purchase! We were celebrating our anniversary, and the sweet lady running it gave us glasses to use for the bottle of champagne my husband brought, then she turned on music and a strobe light ball to make it special for us! So thoughtful, and those simple gestures demonstrate only one of many ways the staff goes above and beyond. The pool area is clean and has lounge chairs and a few tables with umbrellas, but a little more shade options and maybe some plants would make it perfect. The gym area has the basic equipment and is clean. And lastly, the location of this hotel is perfect for walking to the many restaurants and local shops, watching sunset, and a quick drive to the public beach or state park! We definitely plan to return with the rest of our family!"

"Everyone is always very kind love the minimal rooms some hotels just have to much stuff in them. I asked for a a room on the Avon’s floor after she gave me one on the first floor and Ms. Karen didn’t hesitate. I just don’t feel safe on the first floor if I’m by myself. Thank you so much Ms. Karen. Only thing 100.00 dollars is a lot for incidentals most I buy is water. But I guess you need to being I worked in hotels and some people are just slobs. Thank you"
Amelia Hotel at the Beach

"The room was a little janky. The closet door was missing. The shower had missing pieces. Whoever painted the room, specifically the base board, had given up on life and didn't have any more Fs to give, but the room was clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. They let pets stay. We found a chew toy at the bed. I don't really like to think that I'm sleeping in the same bed that a dog slept in after being on the beach and in the sand. What if I'm allergic to dogs or just don't want to share a bed with one. Overall, it's a great location and if you don't mind it being dated and the dogs... it's good for a quick stay at the beach."

"It was a nice place but there was no pool, no breakfast and the rooftop restaurant was only open from 5-9 thurs- sat We also had showers that got water all over floor when you used them. Loved the balcony. Palm trees blocked ocean view. Needs some tweaking and it would be great."

"This was a great place to stay to access everything on St. Simon Island. It is so conveniently located to the lighthouse, the pier, the pier village shops and restaurants. The room was well decorated as was the Inn and everything was as pictured and very clean. The breakfast offered had cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, egg bites or oatmeal that could be warmed in the microwave, several breads selections. We did not use the pool, but it also was very clean. The only negative we have is that the parking under the facility was very tight in some spots due to the support columns, but they did have parking in the rear of the building or across the street as well. We will definitely return to stay here in the future."

"The staff was truly courteous and we were allowed to check in 2 hours earlier which made our trip to Jekyll Island much more inviting and relaxing. In addition, we were given complimentary water bottles. And since both my husband and I were so thirsty at that time of check-in, we felt so comfortable right away. The room was huge and very clean and the pillows as well as the queen size beds were extremely comfy! The beach behind the hotel was so beautiful, clean and had privacy. Breakfast was sumptuous and had lots of options. Again, the staff made sure our needs were met. Great hotel for an island getaway!"
