I was working in Salinas for the week but only booked one night because I was apprehensive, but immediately upon entering, Sweetie (staff member) made me feel at home, as if we've known each other forever. So I asked her to book the remainder the week and it has been the most quiet and secure place I've stayed in 25 years working in the area."

"This very sweet motel is smack dab in the middle of Carmel Valley close to restaurants and wine tasting rooms. It is extremely convenient, safe, and comfortable. The staff go above and beyond to try to make your stay as wonderful as possible. They are very generous with Keurig pods, water, and little things that are nice to have in a motel like wine opener and cheese knife. Don't hesitate to stay in this truly lovely motel."

"Had a lovely stay at Bernardus once again! Nice, cozy and accommodating rooms made a nice relaxing stay. We went to the spa one day and all the services were lovely. We also ate at the restaurant and bar and had some great meals. Overall, staff was friendly and we enjoyed our visit. Only small nit would be that during our stay there seemed to be quite a bit of younger children (4-6 year olds) and they were running around quite a bit during the morning & day. It didn't bother us but I did notice there was more noise as they were joyfully going about. Didn't recall this from our first stay but guess it just depends on when you are there."
